Making plans to go from Derby up for a drive around the Lake District then up to the Ingliston Hotel and Country Club hotel to the West of Glasgow on Fri 17th November.

Route back will be over to Galashiels then down through Northumbria, Yorkshire Moors then back to Derby on the Sat 18th.

Now thinking of coming back to Derby on the Sun19th and spending the 18th driving up to somewhere in Scotland so asking advice on routes please. Have no issue with a 8 or 9hr drive.

Have had a look around on Google Maps but no real idea where to look, was thinking maybe over to the West coast. The night of Sat 18th would be spent in the same hotel West of Glasgow.

Not too worried about finding fast, smooth roads as will be in a Wrangler Rubicon.

^^ Thank you for that.

Looked at the 2nd route on Google Maps and looks ideal.

Since you are staying at the Ingliston Hotel and Country Club, which is west of Glasgow, you could drive up to the Argyll Coastal Route, which is one of the most beautiful drives in Scotland. It starts from Tarbet, which is about 40 minutes from your hotel, and follows the coast of Loch Lomond, Loch Fyne, Loch Awe, and Loch Creran, before ending at Fort William, which is the gateway to the Highlands.
Just looking on Maps for a route incorporating those places. Likely get to Glencoe then head East to work my way back down to the hotel.

8 or 9 hrs driving is fine.
