roads in bad condition? - which areas worse?
Discussion
I live near Bolton, the roads round here are absolutely dire. hi/low manholes, potholes, missing lumps of tarmac on roads that are barely tarmac covered cobbles, even the M62 has warning signs for uneven road surfaces...
Some potholes are bad enough to loosen teeth.
Manchester has bad spots too, some really bad lumps and bumps even in the middle of town, most caused by C Ontractor and his partners Bodgthat and Leggit not filling in holes/pipeworks to a satisfactory standard.

I am going to volunteer to take one of the road inspectors out in my kit car, see if i can shatter a couple of his/her vertebrae, which is what it feels like after driving to bolton and back.
lost count of how much rubber i have pulled from the wheel arch edge where the suspension has banged hard over a dropped manhole.

[quote=Who me ?]Just posted on the Scotland area - A82 -responsibility of HA (or Scottish equivalent ) ---un less they hurry ,most of it will be lying at side of road .But moves are afoot to shout for an upgrade .

Spent the week before last driving around up there and understand what you mean but, to be fair, considering most of it (the A82) is single lane carrigeway and allowing for the HGV's and that most of it is alongside the shores of various lochs, I think they keep it in very good nick. I saw the signs appealing for it to be upgraded and have to agree.
As a sort of 'anti-bh' about the roads, I loved the little single track road up into glen nevis, like a bloody roller coaster, but so much fun even at 20 mph in a mondeo... going back in the kit car later in the year for a 'proper' go on that one.
