London to s.france via provence

Chaps,

Middle of summer need to be in s of france for a wedding.

Will have a few days to get there so wanted to go via provence.

Question is 2fold.. Does anyone have any idea rough costs of tolls etc on this route.

secondly, on the way back will only really have a day to go from st tropez back to UK, anything quicker than driving? ie car on train etc?

I suppose 3rdly, am I crazy taking car into south of france in mid summer?
