I haven't had many chances for a hoon since moving to the North East but was in the mood to treat myself today so, using Evo 127 Pages 80-85 as inspiration, took the 182 on a visit to the North Pennines.

Wow, the triangle I came up with from their suggested route was awesome, way exceeding expectations:

Hexham > Alston > Eggleston > Edmundbyers > Hexham

A686 > B6277 > B6278 > B6306

Wooded hairpins, open moors, stone bridges, postcard perfect towns with cobbled streets. Couldn't get any better.

Just wish it was summer already- altitude and clear skies meant temps down to -7C at one stage...

Same hairpin as on Evo Pages 84/85 ^

A Viz icon on the way home...

The aftermarth...

Thanks for looking smile

Shay, absoutely. I hadn't really considered it when planning the relocation but now see it as a significant plus point to this area.

Trouble is now I can't stop planning future cars. scratchchin
