Drive through this to and from work every day, they appear to have started it the same day my company moved office and I started to use the motorway on a daily basis...

Anyway, they appear to be putting up a contrete structure to replace the central reservation / crash barrier, which from memory I think they use on the M25... I say appear to be, because when I drove past this evening, they were knocking down the concrete central reservation.. whats that about??

delighted to see that they are finally taking the opportuntity to widen the M3..

"During this extended contract period, we are taking the opportunity to construct an additional lane at the northbound diverge for the M3 at junction 3. Associated works will include the construction of two retaining walls, earthworks drainage, safety barrier installation, surfacing and white lining. Works are scheduled to be completed by December 2009."

looks like they have finished (Southbound at least) the road is back to normal, the hard shoulder is still coned off, and the average speed scameras have "cameras not in use" next to them, theres no speed limit signs at all, but people still sit at 50 all the way through... I guess old habits die hard!

FFS.. saw a sign last night.... London bound, around Fleet services, new road works imminent for 16 f&$cking weeks.....

These people could not organise a p1ss up in a brewery....

Anyone actually know what is being done? there is nothing on the usual site about this stretch (near fleet services) are we to expect restricted lanes / speed limits? went past this morning and there were cones along the hard shoulder but thats all...
