Been a member for 4 years or so and occasionally posted and contributed but decided to try and contribute more and am looking forward to my first Sunday Service at BMW in a couple of weeks.

Ive always been into beemers since I got my first car at 18 - an e30 320ise. Loved it very much but a combination of 12mpg round town and needing to pay for a wedding night she had to go eventually.

It was quickly replaced with a e34 525i Sport in lovely Avus blue which is still the smoothest car ive ever driven - like butter that engine, silky smooth butter! Anyway I added some 18" Rondells and a few little bits and bobs and must say I'm still chuffed with how it looked.

After that I got the opportunity to buy my e28 M5. Its 008 of 186 RHD cars made and i love it. Fantastic peice of kit which has been featured in BMWCar and TotalBMW mags so im a proad little fella.

The idea when I bought it was to track it but the e28 is just a bit to rare for me to trust myself so I bought a mates e30 touring.

Starting life as a 316 Touring, it had had a 318iS engine, gearbox and zaust transpalnt and after i'd had the brakes uprated it was a fantastic little track machine and road weapon. Whisper it but I think I enjoyed driving this more than the M5!

But then my wife gave me the happy new that we were expecting and so two things happened:

We needed a family car and we ran out of money!

So the iS left (The M5 was safe!) and I bought a e39 530d Sport Touring. Ive had it remapped to around 230bhp and 500N.m of lovely lovely tourqe and couldnt resist a set of my favourite Rondells - this time with 10j rears which are deliciously phat!

Have to say the mighty 'd' is a fine car and very quick and comfy. One of my faves.

So there you have it - I'm down to the 'd' and the M5, although i'm always scheming...................

My dad was up that way in it recently so you may have spied it! Thanks for the comments - looking forward to showing the M5 off on its home turf at BMW HQ

Other Beemers that have gone through the family include a couple of lovely e24s

Not a fan of massive lips on the rims but I love the cars themselves.

Saw the touring and M5 in BMW Car magazine a few months back. Very nice.

The 530d is very nice. Whip out them swirl flaps!

Each to their own but i do like a bit of booty which i think a deep lip gives.

You won't be surprised to know the Z3 MCoupe is my favourite beemer

Is it heresy that of all of those, I absolutely loved the 525? I don't know what it is, but it looks stunning. Top work!

Great choice of BMWs there, even if you did spell "phat" wrong tongue out

Like your 'adverts' though, nice idea, I might borrow it...

The e34 is definately one of the best looking bmws and im sure will come to be better appreciated as time goes by - in Avus its hard to beat.

As to the adverts - i hit on the idea a few years ago while designing a sig for another forum, I think it 'frames' the cars well!

Oh yeah I can definitely see how they can work for people, certain cars probably look better with them, never been sold on them though.

The Z3 M Coupe would look good no matter what wheels it had on tbh.

All such beautiful cars, especially the E34. I was looking at getting an E30 or E34 when I turn 19 soon, but the insurance costs put me off, how did you manage to insure a 320 at 18?
