After passing my test in March this year, I had roughly 6 months without being able to drive!
but I finally concluded after 6 whole months of looking i was not going to able to afford my own car and insurance, so I turned to my parents, I am very fortunate to have my mum and dad both owning a car, so it was a choice between a Mitsubishi Space Wagon or a VW Polo.
Naturally I chose the Polo, the insurance was not cheap! £1740! Before anyone asks, yes i am paying for it, I dont expect or demand things from my parents I have always paid my way
I have been insured to drive the Polo for about 6 weeks (ish) and have covered nearly 3000 miles! spent rather a lot of money on petrol.... definitely worth it though! Only been stopped once by the police
So onto some pictures....
My attempt at some arty shots...
I'm not going to put GF Williams out of business am I?
And after a quick wash today...
Mmmmm Beading
Thanks for looking, any comments welcome

Very Nice!
I like this shape Polo quite alot.
I don't think I will get insured on my mums car , it's a 2.0 Toyota Avensis.
That's a fair bit of miles in 6 weeks(ish). What does your mum use now.
Oh and lastly, was the Police just a routine stop or did you VMAX the Polo?
Again, it looks great!

It was for 'Causing too much noise' I then went down one of my favourite roads after I passed them (didn't see they were there) and booted it to about a lepton, bear in mind it was a single carriageway NSL road.
Got to the end and saw in my rear view mirror the unmistakeable Astra panda car, which decided to follow me for around 8 miles and pull me

I've had a good number of those as courtesy cars from VW dealers.
I reckon they're the best supermini you can buy - very nicely finished, hold their value well, reliable, robust etc.
Always loved the pattern in the seat fabric.

I think if you put either some coil-overs or some stiff springs, along with sticky tyres, it would handle pretty nicely too!

1.2 Polo is a loud beast!
Any points?

Sorry but £1740 for insurance on your first car is stupidly cheap :O I'm over £2000
Not my policy, I'm only a named driver, but I'm still paying for all of it even though my mum and dad on their own was £250!Defcon5 said:
They gave me a Fox for a week!
1700 is good for the insurance - I assume thats you as a named driver though, so no NCB
Don't get me wrong, I was over the moon when I found that quote, but anyway you look at it £1740 is a lot of money to 17 year old! 1700 is good for the insurance - I assume thats you as a named driver though, so no NCB
