These were only just mentioned on the unusual barge thread the other day!
That'll be a peach of an engine I imagine, our family business built the local Mazda dealership and these came out not long after. Mazda were such an interesting brand back then, still are of course with their engine tech but they really went for it back then.

Wow, so rare! When I was growing up a teacher had a 6. Tell us more and post plenty of pictures.
78K miles, only did 22K in first 7 years
3 owners, including me
small crease on front wing, Mot last month, advisory on suspension bushes only thing. No rust anywhere- apparently up until me had always been garaged
Is it sitting low? If factory that's a great stance!
I love looking at this age of cars when at a show, they're the sort of last generation of visually pretty cars before legislation took over and designers had to resort to visual tricks to get things looking correct.
Look at the belt line on this for instance, tied in to the really low bonnet line. A pillars that don't blind you, a glasshouse that takes up almost 50% of the hight of the car, I could go on...
You just can't build a car like that nowadays.

Thats factory stance,, it has a very close relationship with the Buick Regal of that same era. I know some folks do not care for the 90's look, personally I love it,, that belt line is beautiful, you are right.. has that very subltle hip rise moving aft.. and you sit quite low compared to modern cars....
