Er... I bought an old range rover without going to see it...its just been delivered.
Seems ok. Big oil leak from somewhere, otherwise very pleased.
I need to tow 3.5 tons, not often, just a few times a year and not far, this is MoT and tax exempt, as simple as a Defender, but more comfy and cheaper.
£4,350. Never bought so much trouble so cheap.
It is makes it to my ferry tonight and to home, about 10 miles, I'll be delighted.

There's nothing to go wrong, its a V8, manual box and not much more.
No mot needed, free tax, £153 insurance for a year.
Loaded on to ferry home ok.
So are you currently planning to do the bare minimum to keep it serviceable, or have you embraced the inevitable fact that you will be spending all your free time and effort fettling and cosseting it?
If the latter, what is planned?
Edd China did/is still doing a YouTube series restoring one. Skip the 58 episodes where he is using a laser cleaner and it's quite good.

It made it home...running on 7 cylinders, maybe 6, perhaps 5, 4 at times, defo not 8.
Absolutely delighted with it. Its very wobbly!
I've ordered all the stuff to completely overhaul the ignition and fit electronic ignition getting rid of points and condensor.
Once all that is done I'll take stock of how its running.
Then brakes need looking at as it dives to the right and I want to tow 3.5 tons.
