ello, newbie from yorkshire here, and this is a picture of my mundaeno

yes thrilling isnt it rolleyes

But it does have some upsides, it was cheap, the engine is the 2ltr duratec and is much better than the engines in any of my previous cars, the build quality is pretty damn good, the suspension is silly soft and that is good due to a slighty dodgy back and my fiance living in a house that you have to drive down a bumpy untarmaked road to get to but it has goodyear eagle f1's all the way round so even though i do have comedy suspension is not bad in the corners when i do DRIVE it

plus it copes with the weight of my silly large car hifi quite well (i compete in car audio soundoffs when im not having fun on some of the country roads round here)

all in all its the nicest car ive owned, plus as im only 23 i can keep it and run it into the ground saving money until me and my fiance can afford a fun car (we both like the mx5 as they are a bit more usable day to day than an elise)

nice motor too, now't wrong with a mondeo, use a mates 2litre ghia when back in the UK, good car, smokes along the motorways and can still hustle in the country thumbup

just watch out mentioning MX5's ... thats a whole different can of worms ..

scratchchin series 1 2 or 3, 1.6, 1.8, 2l ... hairdresser car or old school remake done good etc etc .. (fwiw also nice cars IMHO

I really like that shape mondeo, looks very well on either the 18inch Zetec-S rims or the 18inch ford optional multispokes. Massive inside too!

Welcome smile

well bootspace is one reason i bought the car as i need a fair bit of bootspace for the audio system (infact i need all the boootpsace)

plus as i said its a damn comfy ride and for the plod to work and back i wanted a nice smooth ride

its just a shame that one of its first owners used it as a company rep so there is more stonechip than paint on the bonnet and bumpers - I even have stonechips on the roof (how i dont know) so i need to get my friend to give the paint a blast over to cover the stonechips

but it does pull well considering the weight of the thing and i have had it for a few months now and it has not tired to kill me - its the first one of my cars to not try to kill me

the mundaeno is a ghia spec so its not bad but i wish it had the toys of the ghia x

the 307 - it was a nice car - loved the seats and the ride on it but one of the reaons i chopped it in was it was understeer tastic all the time

plus i knew i would be proposing to my lass in a couple of months time so i wanted a bigger car to prepare for married life as i intend to keep it for a good few years as housing will take the bulk of the cash when my lass learns to drive

a mondeo? yes its mine at the top of the thread

saying that its the best car out of my driving histor so far

1994 M reg 306 1.9 NON turbo diesel (my god this was slow and the alarm went off every time ir rained but it was not bad) and for essentially a shopping car the handed pretty well

1992 Rover 218 SD 1.9 NON turbo diesel (same engine as the 306) very slow but a lot of car for not a lot of cash

1997 Mk3 Golf 1.9TDI (yay a turbo) high milage tastic and it had its faults but couldent fault the engine

2003 307 HDI fantastic engine just wish it handed like my 306 did

and now the mundaeno
