Hello people,

Thought I would put up a picture of the beast. 10 years of restoration and an eye watering amount of money thrown at it, but it is finally driveable. Still doesn't run right, but at least its driving and is fun.

Next step is to bore/stroke it to a 489ci tyre melter.

This one is of its natural environment. I am currently getting 6 to the gallon, and driving it carefully.

And, gratuitously, one of Mrs 427James.

Yikes! Looks great though, and I like the lack of bling/chrome.

Thanks guys. I tried to keep it original. No "Stingray" badges in 68, so they aren't on. The rear and front bumpers are the only real chrome.

Unfortunately I dont have any pics of the engine bay at the moment.

Its people like you that are eccentric enough to keep these dream cars on the road; for us mere motoring mortals to gawp at and quiver when we see them....

I have the longing to do some thing like this and preserve a peice of iconic motoring heritage...

Bravo chap clapbow bravo!

Gorgeous car and congratulations on being one of those true petrolheads that gets this type of car back on the road for the rest of us to enjoy!

Sir, when you have had enough of this car please PM me. That is sex on wheels.

Also without lowering the tone, Mrs 427james looks very nice aswell.

You should be a proud man.

I am quite pleased. Suffered a bruised ego when the timing was off, and I started the car at open throttle, just to witness a major backfire and pick the remains of the rocker covers off the top of the heads. THat happened about 2 hours after those pictures!

Back together now, but needs fettling....

Very nice!

Is it not possible for you to modernise the engine a bit? I can understand keeping the car itself classic, but there's nothing wrong with perhaps megasquirt and an EFI system to try and get up to 15 to the gallon hehe
