well i got bored of my old 328i bm..
i wanted something a bit more exciting..
and a little project with something for me to tinker with...
and got this :-

well pleased with the price i paid for it.
had enough left over to do the bits i needed to

so after a week.. i have done
full service inc plugs and filters
induction kit
dump valve
new turbo (oil seals had gone)
new radiator
brake fuild changed to 5.1
(all of which i knew when i bought it)
also swapped exhaust with someone on kent scoobies for a quieter one (as i work shifts)

all service etc done cost me £532 plus buying the car
well pleased with the results
also me being me i like my cars to be different and stand out.
i know a lot will not like and some will.. but thats the whole point..
it now looks like so (looks better in the flesh) and at least its no longer plain silver

my lil helper

next is orange wheels smile

Big fat exhaust. Not a massive fan of silver cars - it does look a bit jazzep up now and stands out more. Will the orange wheels suit it though?

it does stand out alright! don't think i've seen that done in orange before

have you had it remapped? with the induction kit/ turbo and exhaust it might be a good idea, if the turbo was like for like and the exhaust is cat back only should be ok but worth thinking about?

lovely car, although would look twice as nice without the decals imo

I think the rally stuff only works in the rally colours. I would have kept it silver with the black wheels. Also if you are getting a front mount and winding up the boost why did you replace the standard turbo with a standard turbo? How much did the car cost as it looks quite tidy.

Whenever i see a scooby on the road with those decals i just think chav/nobhead (their driving usually backs that up! Car is nice, decals are fking awful.

+2, some nice wheels and just silver would look much nicer, does the car even have any/many/all of the things advertised all over it? pirelli? motul? k&n? prodrive? bilstein? sparco? etc etc...

nope its personal choice with decals..

i don't drive like or am not a chav... i have good job my lil girl in the car most of time so drive sensibly, why do people always have to insult others just cos they don't like it? everyone has personal tastes. i would love to have got a blue saloon and then put the proper rally decals on it but unfortunatly i am a family man and need the space.
also if i was a chav why would i go get quieter exhaust..
Its a personal hate of silver cars hence why i want to be different.. but i only paid 950 for it so could not turn it down to be honest..

And it looks better in the flesh. but as said its each to their own.
as usual people just stereo type.

I was going to stay black wheels with black mirrors and black scoop etc... but that look is just getting too common. there is no other scoob in my area with the decal kit

Each to their own I s'pose.. if you're keeping the decals it would look a lot better caked in mud after a spirited drive down a forest track smile

Love the car but not the stickers, fair play though!

ETA - I would have at least got a number one on the side as opposed to 10! wink

Be careful going front mount with a 98. Depending on the ecu you have in it, it's likely to need a whoile new standalone ecu put in as the standard one cannot be remapped. The piggy back ecu is in development however.

Enjoy it though above all. The silver / orange combo is different. Personally I'd keep the wheels the colour they are though.

im pretty sure an Ecutek board fits any classic impreza ecu, making it fully mappable. It was in development ages ago.

cheers guys..
I knwo my ecu is not remappable..
i not got hte money at the mo but when i do i will be looking at a piggy back or stand alone..

the reasoni went for standard turbo for now is money..

keep it simple and reliable for now till i have the money to throw at it and make it a monster...

must admit drove it today for first time in a few days since the work was done and i love it even more.
