Peugeot 306 gti 6 turbo
Discussion
Hi guys, just signed up wanted to show you a bit about my pride and joy lol.
Well as most people nowdays are supercharging the gti6 i wanted to be different, and what way to be different than by adding a turbo to the mix lol.
I basically started by wanting a turbo car after owning escort rs turbos, i knew i would have to fully forge the engine to make sure she did not go bang, turbo wise we picked a t34 and had it custom built so full boost would hit by 4000rpm.
We never started with a power figure in mind just wanted to make a nice quick car which was useable. With this first engine build we never did a power run but she was rather quite fast, i would think around 250bhp at 1.8 bar boost, now i know what you are thinking that is a lot of boost for not a great deal of power lol, but at the time did not know this.
Well the inevitable happened and the engine let go, we think a con rod snapped i was not so sure but it blew a hole front and rear of engine big enough to put your fist through. It took a long time to save for the new engine i had to sell my 10 point sd roll cage, defi gauges and my fuel system, 3 fuel pumps and a swirl pot.
Once we got the new engine built i made sure she was run in really well and wanted to take it somewhere different for mapping, from the start i wondered if it had been a problem with the mapping maybe running lean and letting the engine go. I then found steve from track and road in essex.
Steve is old school and tells it how it is, which there was a lot and he was amazed the car was running lol. So much on the map (i run efi euro 1) was wrong they just burst out laughing. They liked the conversion and they new it could make good power but the mapping was all over the place, well after 7 hours of mapping and a lot of swearing (steve hates efi lol) the car was running better than she had ever done.
We managed to make 293bhp 266 ft/lbs all at 0.9 bar, to say i was happy was an understatement. The car went from undriveable to driveable, no more boost hoses blowing off and the car just kept on pulling like a train. The drive home was fun, steve did say that was just the start the car started to run lean at bang on 300bhp so they turned it down a little.
I need to uprate the fuel pump swirl pot injectors (running cossie greens) and 4.5 bar fuel regulator. Once i get all this no reason for not close to 400bhp. I have done so much to this car and just saving up for parts, will put a few pics up, any questions guys just ask away.
How i bought the car
Kaaz limited slip diff
Bought a set of oz superleggera 17in alloys, then had the powdercoated black:
Pic of new number plate and intercooler:
Old fuel system being fitted not finished lol, then ripped out
Pic of interior with defi gauges, these were also sold
Roll cage which also sold
Kad 6 pot brakes:
Drag racing santa pod
New 330mm hi spec brakes

Awesome, pritty much perfect, Love the Gti-6.
Have to say tho, reeally don't like the colour, ruins it for me.
Everything else it pritty amazing,-Including the power!- and is done exactly right.
The colour won't be to everyones taste, but to me it looks absolutely stunning. Always loved the shape of the 306, and this just enhances everything good about it.Have to say tho, reeally don't like the colour, ruins it for me.

Right quick update, am planning going to south of france end of next year so the plan is for suspension work and a few brakes upgrades.
Plan is new front brake pads, am thinking for ferodo 2500 and the same for rear. They should help pull it up.
Next i will be overhaling the suspension, first is some second hand as new bilstein front shocks and going to powdercoat my springs to make them look good again.
Next will be rear beam rebuild time, firstly getting some solid rear beam mounts which should help lift of over steer. Then getting a friend to rebuild the beam, going to try and fit a hybrid arb and 205 pins, have all ready got koni adjustable rear shocks.
That should hopefully do it, should be good for a track day and for fast road driving.
