They say it cannot be done - 1000bhp Supercharged VXR8
Discussion
Suspension is in the country and covered by warranty. Getting fixed the Monday after TR.
Meanwhile, contemplating just fitting the injectors and overdrive pulley and saving cam and springs till later so I can actually measure the changes each component makes just to satisfy my curiosity. Also working on shielding the intake as this weather is killing it.

178mh at Thunder Road yesterday, shame it was my 6th run and didn't count for the official prize for being the fastest https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mikEQuifE2w
Gonna be fun next year if I get a job to cover fitting costs.

Eaton have just release d the TVS 2650. It's said to flow 25% more air than the 2300! Should be the first eaton that can easily push over 1000bhp! The aftermarket guys already have them but nothing GM out yet (although Magnuson have a nice dodge setup with twin throttle bodies!!).
I still prefer the screw type to the PD type due to the internal compression ratio of the screws compared to just the manifold compression of a PD.Build has been on hold due to my new job meaning the car is my DD. On holiday over Xmas so may get the chance to send the car off to get the parts fitted.

The TVS 2650 will outflow the 2.9 and thus run cooler. The other whipple option would be the front feed 4.5 that they are supposed to be releasing. That will definitely reach you goals with loads of room the spare!
Will prob run an interchiller anyway but a front feed 4.3 would definitely fit the bill The 2.9 is in range for the target though at the end of the day and I have seen that the HB do suffer from cracked casings due to the extreme temps pushed at them.A bit of thread necromancy, but hey, all good fun
Finally got round to fitting the following parts and had it tuned:
BTR stage 3 blower cam (231/248 .617"/.595" 120+5)
IWIS TIMING CHAIN
LS CHROMOLY PUSHROD SET (5/16") 7.4"
BTR .660" Dual Spring Kit Ti Retainers
BTR Front Timing Cover Gasket
BTR Timing Chain Damper Seal
BTR Water Pump Gasket
ARP Crankshaft Damper Bolt
GM 3 Bolt 4 Pole Cam Gear
ARP Cam Bolts
BTR Valve Cover Gaskets
BTR header gaskets
Lingenfelter Harmonic Balancer
Lingenfelter 22% OD Pulley
Lingenfelter Idler pulley relocation bracket
ID850 Injectors
Lingenfelter Cold Air Intake
Pacemaker 2" Ceramic coated Long Tube headers
Pacemaker 100 cell sports cats
Pacemaker 3" catback exhaust
This was set up on the Dyno at Surrey Rolling Road using BP Ultimate on stock fuel pump and spark plugs. There is plenty left in the tune for more power but stopped the tuning at this point. No hint of knocking or fuel delivery issues. 1000BHP doesn't seem so far off with some better cooling/knock prevention

wouldn't race fuel run it to 1000bhp?
Good you are getting there.
Pretty much with the extra timing that could be added. Should be able to get there on 97 though Good you are getting there.
Unlike most V8's tuned over here, you would not know how powerful it is until I put my foot down, no cold start issues, no lumpy idle, no shunting in traffic.
Got the logs somewhere, but around 36C at the end of that pull iirc. On the road it seems to recover pretty quickly once off boost. And yeah, know all about those two cylinders, looking into getting a lid spacer to help airflow as well.
Swerni, yeah it does sound pretty good.
Dom, will try and get along to a meet again soon. We didn't clean up the welds, but may look at that at some point.

Not for a while yet, gonna be sourcing rods and pistons first. Will also be working with my tuner on the traction control at Thunder Road for optimal launching
New rears are on order as well, gone for a set of MPS4S in 285 rather than the stock 275, and kept the same 35 profile. Only 7mm diameter extra so not enough to knock the speedo out by too much, but can tweak the profile in the tune if it bugs me too much. Also gonna be putting in the new cooler plugs today if the car is cool enough by lunchtime.
Hoping to get the Kenne Bell Boost-a-Pump sorted by TR just for piece of mind for the long drag at WOT.
