OP is an absolute queefbag who is either a mega liar or just a wet lettuce. If you hadn’t have sent that greedy email you’d have the car by now!

Also, coming on occasionally and answering 1/10 posts while completely and purposely blanking the other 9/10 posts that are all asking the same thing is highly infuriating. loser
Honestly, I would love to respond to all posts as I've enjoyed reading them all, lots of laughs all along the way and yous have helped me keep perspective on the whole matter from the start, without laying the boot in too much. So that's cool.

Even with swiftkey on my mobile phone, I couldn't possibly have the time to respond to them all - it's an enormous amount of posts to read, let alone reply to smile

My word count is easily into multiple thousands already on this thread I'm sure!

In light of proof of the car, and to prove this isn't a wind up, some evidence.

Cant really add a tin of custard to a screenshot but....

PP and I needed to follow each other to send messages..

My insurance quote for the Caddy

Disappointing that I'm not able to provide pictures of the car....but, looking on the bright side...

The guy who fixed it up and did repairs post advert is clearly a racing enthusiast....and good with a spanner....and now knows my Escalade having checked it all over. That could be quite the bonus.

I may have found someone I can call on should I keep the car and make it my pride and joy. Might have worked out for the best this way smile

Fake news lol!

No mention of selling it to anyone, bar Rich12 way earlier in the thread. As previously posted, my plan is to tax, insure, drive it and put it up for sale, but drive it and enjoy it 1st.

No sales done whatsoever smile
Glad we will get to see it, if only for a bit of thread closure...we will, won’t we?!? smile

But what about the posts you made which have then been deleted which did refer to said £3.5k sale to the guy involved?
No deleted posts from me, 100%. Someone is stirring the pot, that's simply not true. Never posted that.

I'm in for all of this as long as I don't get lumbered with getting the bugger over the water. I'm assuming the chairs come out and the ferry goes inside?

You win the prize for best comment so far biggrin

I'm thinking I'm going to get some funny looks driving around town in this big wagon.

I could have a bit of sport with it, especially being left hand drive.

If I crouch down low on the left driver seat, people would look to the right seat to see who the driver is. ..only there isn't anyone there.

Or....I've an old xbox steering wheel in my garage. I could put it on the dash on the right hand side and get one of my kids to pretend they are driving, casually tootling along with an arm out the window smile

Right then OP. Time to get serious.

It's Sunday, most of us PH'ers are doing two things. Preparing for another week of executive moves, facial hair maintenance and busing muscle or sitting doing fk all wondering how long it took for the wee spider to make his web and if he (she) has caught any flies with that web. I'm the latter in case you were wondering.

I then liken this to the most patient of spiders. I bet if you could calculate the combined cost of all the time people have put into this thread you could have hired Tiger himself to drive this car to you.

That, my friend is a lot of flies, and what a web. Is this a web of receipt, distrust and downright lies? To understand this we go back to planning your week.

I know that for work this week I need to do two things: 1. Turn up and 2. Plan a jolly to Portugal.

You, however are going to be much busier.

Your previous "next week" claim is too loose, you must by now have planned the required pick up. You have of course mentioned you are insured so there is nothing stopping you apart from the bloke that has it getting lost on a racetrack.

So, what say you OP. We need details. Jimmy Price said that.
biggrin

Won't text him today being the weekend so will do that tomorrow. I've a charity golf event tomorrow but I'll certainly be in contact tomorrow to arrange an ASAP collection. 'Hoping' to be Wed latest rather than back end of the week.

Yeah, would have been great pulling into the golf club in the Escalade - drive it straight onto the tee box, remove clubs from the boot, knock a ball down the fairway and return to the car to turn the music up for the other players tee shots

Completely drenched playing golf today and no prizes for 33 points frown

Didn't even win a bottle of wine in the raffle ffs.

..... so I stole one off a 17 year old lad. Too young and saved him from being arrested most likely. Good deed done for the day.

Ps. I don't even drink wine, I just made that up.

So car collection is tbc but looking like Wednesday now smile

I'm calling bullst on this. It's been nearly two weeks, and no sign of any car. It all stinks.
I don't understand the need for such hostility. Can't you people grow up a bit?
I don't understand everyone getting so worked up over an old escalade, pics of the actual car have been posted on here and if that isn't enough then just go to google images, otherwise wait for OP to come back with his if/when it happens.
Same, why is everyone calling him a liar and giving him stick. I think he has been pretty open about the whole thing and been rather chilled.
You haven't seen the posts he made then deleted.
Someone said that wasn't the OP as it didn't say Original Poster by the name, so probably someone trying to be funny/trolling with a similar name.

Ask a mod to check if you are that bothered by it.
Yep - definitely no deleted tweets from me and as shown on my twitter response, soupdragon1 and the PP draw winner campbellbrian1 are the same person.

And to add further insight - people called Campbell often get knickname of Soup or Soupy. Soupdragon is from my nickname and I was born in the year of the Dragon, hence the soupdragon user name - plus I also listened to the soupdragons when I was younger so it seemed a good user name smile

I've managed to book a day off on Thu so once I do the school run Thu morning, got all day with no kids to go get it. I might still go get it tomorrow evening though, if I can get out of work at a decent time that is. Got a meeting planned mid afternoon which is anything between 1hr and 2.5hrs but if its on the short side - I'll go get it.

My face is sore after reading all the posts since yesterday, too funny chaps!!!

Only just caught up now over a cup of tea and about to make my merry way now.

Alas, no custard at home so for authenticity purposes, someone needs to pick a random item from the below list and I'll photograph it in the car against the cadillac logo. And yes, it looks like PH are going to see my prize before my missus, friends and family even see it! (Apart from my dad of course)

So which everyday household item shall it be?

Jaffa cake
Cadbury choc roll
Coffee pod
Tea bag?

Jesus, the craic is 90 today lol - this thread has gone full scale mental!

Not long back, neighbours, family etc all waiting as i pulled into the driveway - like piranha fish all over me as soon as I arrived.

Bloody hairy drive home. Need a cup of tea ( and a can of stella for that matter) to settle the nerves and then I'll nip back outside (under the cover of darkness) and try and get a few pics of the beast!

Back shortly....

  • heres one i took earlier

So the place was down a country road, about 1.5 miles of 1 car width road, one of those with grass growing in the middle.

Lovely chap told me all what he done to the car, valet and full service etc.

Stereo is absent though, don't know if its had an aftermarket one removed by previous owner.

Started it up and as expected, lovely noise from the 6L V8.... a nice purr, no burble or anything like that and looks like its stock all the way through to the exhaust, which has an aftermarket chrome tip - purely cosmetic. But yes, really nice sound.

So I asked him which is the best route home. He says which way did you come?

So he asked which way I came and I said 'down that st track over there'

Ah, well that's the best way home.

Great. Nice start. So I get on that dirt track in a left hand drive brute that I've never driven before. And as luck would have it, I bump into another SUV/truck thing . We both stop. I haven't even worked out where reverse is. My gearstick is just this random arm that hangs out from behind the steering wheel which seems to have a mind of its own.

2 mins into my ownership, I find myself in a Mexican standoff on the road against a local hilbilly in his Nissan truck. What the actual fk. And despite my heart 100% wanting to be nice to the other chap and move out of the way, I simply wasn't sure how to.

So he puts his car half up the embankment, which is sign language for 'if you don't do the same I'll eat your children'

24 inch allow wheels aren't a great tool of choice in this situation and I feel a red faced cold sweat coming on. I clench my teeth and, thankfully, make it through unscathed. Not what I thought I would be facing less than 120 seconds into ownership!

Get onto a B road, then manage to get it up over 10mph. fk, it's windy. 40mph winds today and its safe to say I wasn't too enamoured with the weather either.
The Cadillac versus mother nature. 7000lb metal v nature. Caddy thinks its king of the road. I'm enormous, out of my way. Mother nature is like 'yeah, have some of this'
I'm quietly sitting in the car thinking 'leave me the fk out of this, I've nothing to do with this st, I just want to go home'

Wind keep pounding, Caddy keeps fighting back - I'm just sitting there in the middle hanging onto the wheel for dear life wondering if the previous owner had a pair of rosary beads in the glove box.

Eventually, I get on the motorway and finally, at long last, I'm sitting behind the wheel relaxed, and enjoying the ride. Those 1st 15 mins or so were very unpleasant - really felt uncomfortable behind the wheel. After I settled down, it's a smooth ride. It handles just as it looks - st. No jiggery pokery going on to try and defy physics in this car. Nope. Seems like the designers just rolled over and let the laws of physics tickle their belly. It handles exactly like it looks.

The ride is lovely though, potholes are just weird looking things in the road that look like bumps but turn out to be an optical illusion that don't actually exist. Seats are very very nice. I get back pain when driving but not in this. Its more like a comfy chair than a seat though, with the high sitting position.

Anyway, enough rambling for now. I've plenty more to share but will leave that to tomorrow, can't sit typing all night.

I'll do some pics now, hopefully straight ones this time smile

These night pics are really poor but contrary to popular belief, I'm not too bad with a camera. Will get some better shots tomorrow. In the meantime...

Here she is. Well part of it.

Realised that I would be better to walk further back before snapping to try and fit her in.

So I walked back a bit. That's better. But still won't fit in the shot fully. There is a wall behind me so can't go back any more.

So I climb the wall.

Ah, now we can see it's scale properly. That isn't my daughters toy car behind the Escalade by the way, that's a full size BMW X6 that the missus drives. (X6, yeah, I know!)

I'm thinking if I take the seats out of the Escalade, I could hide the missus X6 in the back for giggles.

Over on the Volvo V90 thread, some people are saying it's too big....hard to drive in multi story car parks etc...

Pfffttt... The V90 is a tiny little thing. I'm a little bit worried that if the Escalade gets a little peckish during the night, it might just eat the Volvo whole eek

But as I said, will get some proper pics up tomorrow as you can't see much in the dark.
