That's a handy bit of extra storage.
I'm sure I read somewhere that the early E9* models had a chiller for the compartment under the armrest using that sliding switch, but the facelifts didn't.
The 325i (2005) does have a chiller, not sure about the Alpina (2011), something to check! Crazy if they removed it.I'm sure I read somewhere that the early E9* models had a chiller for the compartment under the armrest using that sliding switch, but the facelifts didn't.

The thing that BMW ditched in the later cars / models that upset me was the tilting headrests.

That’s nuts that it’s got removed. My 330 had it and so does my 335.

Yeah- replaced by active ones I think- as in active in a crash. I also preferred the originals, with more shape and, as you say, a tilt. The thing that BMW ditched in the later cars / models that upset me was the tilting headrests.
Collected the car from ETA Motorsport, it’s had a service, all drive belt pulleys and the belt, Eibach springs, Koni special active dampers, all the related boingy bits, all front control arms and track rods, a new injector on cylinder 3 (PO267 code), and 6 ignition coils, all BMW parts, except the arms that are Meyle HD.
Had a nice ride down to West Kingsdown- though I wouldn’t use google maps cycling setting again, I pored over the route and it still tried to throw me down a load of crappy “national cycle route” stony/ leaf mulch my tracks. Anyway, car, unsurprisingly, drives much better, the ride is lovely. It sits a bit higher, which is fine, though I expect it to settle a bit.
Unfortunately, the service warning hadn’t been reset and 10 miles into the drive home I had a new warning symbol (new to me), guessing a sensor has been knocked or disturbed, but it could be unrelated to the work done of course.
ETA are very reasonable but it does feel a bit like they’ve gone even further into the E46 M3 with a cage market (which is great, wish I had one) and it’s probably not very exciting for them working on an old E91.
Couldn’t reset the service with my plug in code reader so will try Carly later. I’ll ask them to check the sensors when I get an alignment done, otherwise back to ETA I think. Code reader didn’t show a code for the DTC/ABS warning. Actually, wonder if it’s as simple as the DTC button was pressed while there? Will have to pop out and check!

If it's a genuine fault it should definitely have a code stored that will show up using BMW tools (INPA/ISTA). I don't know how good the aftermarket stuff is for reading codes.
Out of interest why did you replace the coils? I'm tempted to change mine as I have a very slightly uneven idle, no codes and it's otherwise very smooth throughout the rev range. I've read different opinions on whether there's any benefit from replacing coils other than preventing a failure, interested to hear your view.

Is that combo for the steering wheel angle sensor?
The one on my other half’s 125i was grumpy after it had some suspension work done to it last year.
Same with my previous E39 touring - newly refurbed ABS module fitted and the steering angle sensor kicked up a fuss. Could only reset it with INPA and it didn't even show on Carly! The one on my other half’s 125i was grumpy after it had some suspension work done to it last year.

Thanks Jake, I don’t even knowing I’d forgotten that orbit was new to me, but I appreciate the tip- it’s reset. Worked first time for me which is unusual.d_a_n1979 said:

Thanks, Sam and Dan. I’ll get an alignment done this week and if it needs resetting on inpa, I’ll probably take it down to BMR. Funny that the injector code is still there, after a code wipe. And the car is still a bit jerky at times. Haven’t driven it much yet to be fair- another thing that BMR would probably identify instantly though.
Clutch pedal bushes didn’t get changed so the pedal still has some play. And the green relay (think it was by back up for wipers?) that was in the boot full of parts seems to have been forgotten at ETA. I collected the car at the weekend when they were closed and probably would have been handed it were they open.
Just enjoying the ride not crash over London’s speed bumps and craters now.

Your car looks absolutely fantastic on those wheels!
I can highly recommend having a steering wheel retrimmed to bring the other contact point up to a better standard. I found it made a massive difference in my 130i and am really happy with it.
Is the bike worth more than the car?
Thanks! Have been really happy with the style 219 wheels. Agree the contact points shape a lot of how you experience a car, if my wife was more attentive to the state of her car, if maybe invest a bit more in it! The window switch plastics on the driver’s door could do with replacing and the trim on the steering wheel. I did find an Individual wheel in Australia for a reasonable price but they refused to ship it.I can highly recommend having a steering wheel retrimmed to bring the other contact point up to a better standard. Any pics of your steering wheel post refresh? I find the Msport wheels overly fat and if I was doing it, I’d probably go down a little.
The bike- what, that old thing? It was a previous season bargain that I don’t really think about much. I haven’t built it up from my favourite components or anything. So definitely, massively less valuable than the car. Hope that is clear.

I had the wheel on my previous 130i reduced in thickness and it was one of the best things I did. When I send the wheel off from the 335i, I’ll do the same.Any pics of your steering wheel post refresh? I find the Msport wheels overly fat and if I was doing it, I’d probably go down a little.

I have a slimmed retrimmed wheel with an individual trim on my 335d. Matched with an M3 handbrake grip. Both matching nappa.Any pics of your steering wheel post refresh? I find the Msport wheels overly fat and if I was doing it, I’d probably go down a little.
