My Lotus Evora
Discussion
I'd trust it should last well, I'm in the industry, and there is nothing wrong with FC pigment durability. The only issue with leather colour changes is scratching. Any pigment however good can scratch, and in this instance, if it were scratched, you'd see ivory (?) in the scratch.
Out of interest OP, would you mind sharing FC's cost for the work? Just to help me ensure I'm not over or under quoting/charging for such jobs!

Scroll up a little and he's advised on the charges. Out of interest OP, would you mind sharing FC's cost for the work? Just to help me ensure I'm not over or under quoting/charging for such jobs!
Seems like money well spent. Looks great!

Sorry hadn't seen that this had been bumped. The interior is holding up perfectly (which reminds me it even held up to me sleeping in it one night when I got in pissed from a night out and didn't have my house key), you really wouldn't be able to tell it'd been another colour, although there is a tiny nick in the driver seat which I'll get repaired in the Winter.
The interior was dismantled by BTG in North Shields (they had an ex-Lotus tech at the time) as opposed to FC - I'm not sure the latter would have the expertise for this.

Really interesting reading. Looks like its a real keeper. How are its motorway cruising capabilities?
I know you’re not asking me but I have one. I got cruise fitted because it was hurting my feet on long journeys and is absolutely effortless on long journeys. I recently did a 2000 mile trip in mine and it just eats the miles. Planted, fast, fun. I would love a Ferrari or something but don’t have the budget. This mini supercar will have to do.Packs, it is a lovely colour combo you have there, one I would like if going for one. I do really like the Evora, the only thing stopping it being on my must have list is that I'm dying to buy a V8V, at similar money.
I was at Geneva, on Press Days (with CAR magazine) in 2009. Me and a guy I know who was also there had a good chat with the guy in charge of designing it, I've forgotten his name. One nugget, I was curious about the reason for the stark upward concave curve on the sill between the wheels, so asked him about that. He responded that they were very keen to avoid the elongated impression that suffers the Mondial, so this was their solution. He gave an analogy of vertical stripes on clothing slimming a person wearing them. I found it interesting, even if none of you do

Thanks chaps, really appreciate it.
I looked at a V8V but my friend's brother had one and had nowt but bother with it. The final straw was that it needed a new headlight for the MOT at a cost of £900. At least with the Evora, like any Lotus, you can get parts from elsewhere and save a bit of money (granted not a headlight!). Also the Evora is a little more nimble than the GT feeling of the V8V but the latter is definitely better looking and better sounding.
There's bits from Toyota, Vauxhall, Ford and probably a couple of others. I think I've already mentioned about the spark plugs being £30 each from Lotus here but I got all 6 from Lexus in the USA for £35 delivered.

Interesting to me that you mention that. I saw a V8V video, IIRC a Doug DeMuro one? He also discussed (with an owner) running costs, and the owner mentioned none exclusive items that could be bought far cheaper than the AM route. Of course I get your angle, a Toyota engine is sharing a bit more than AM share with others in their cars!
I never had any real issues with either the Evora or the V8V to properly rape my wallet. The worst was a radiator going on the Aston and that was a bill of about £3k along with a service that I combined with it.
Parts wise I haven’t noticed a massive difference. Brakes discs were similar between the cars on price, tyres too and most consumables seem comparable. Clutch is about the same on both too.
That said, whilst neither can be run on a shoe string, I would suggest the Aston certainly has more of a risk of dropping you a £5k bill now and again.
