Slightly stalker-ish I probably have your dad on Facebook then laugh turbo owners are a very tight community lol. The only criticism of this from others have always been them tailpipes, the frustrating thing is it sounds very nice. Literally just like a red top, wouldn't even know it was turbocharged. A lot of growling induction noise as well. But it is an idea to do. Thanks mate
I expect he's off the radar tbh as, like me, he steers well clear of Facebook. He also has a Calibra Turbo, but I expect that will go at some point now he has the Cav which is a better example. Funnily enough he did the same with that exhaust too. I think there's a pattern here with him being under the radar as both look stock with about 300 ponies to motor about with

Ahh I see lol. For some reason the Calibra never got my motor running, I have no idea why. C20LET is so bloody easy to get power from, breather mods and a phase 3 chip you're rivelling the latest astra VXR for bhp top trumps. Crazy that a 25yr old engine can do that

I think NotNormal and his dad are quite well versed in doing just that wink

Absolutely fantastic car sir, you’ve done your Mum proud there.

My first “proper” car was an immaculate white SRI 16V saloon with the red top C20XE engine - Turbo was the stuff of dreams.

Enjoy it.

One of the all time great engines in my opinion

I’d like mine in the Nova - 3 door with the boxy arches

A Cavalier Turbo would be in my lottery win garage though

Love this. My first semi fast car was a mk3 Sri withe the 130bhp 8v. It was a 4 door so had similar looks to the gsi and turbo. Would love another for nostalgia factor, even an SRi if I would a cheap solid version!

They're are some about, not so much ebay but the bookface groups SRIs do pop up for sale. There was a red one not long ago for jot huge money, issue is rust has taken its toll on anything early 90's

Great car, I had one back in the nineties and loved it. Much preferred it to the Sapphire Cosworth it replaced, to be fair I had the 2WD version. Enjoy. smilesmile

A Calibra turbo sold for 6.5k at recent Auction, thought was a bargain.

Calibras arent worth as near as much for some odd reason, classic car values dont make much sense in general

i don't know how much they are worth really, don't buy into all this classic investments world.

For me you should always buy the car to use, if you make money on it, then thats a bonus but should never be a given.
But with cars having so much to go wrong, it is still a risk, I think it is the peak of the bubble, the calibra turbo luckily hasn't gone there yet. But there wern;t ever made as sports cars , just top of the range cars, which is why Ford RS seem a lot more expensive.

All old cars are st to drive. Is there something faster, yes. Is there something more comfortable, yes. Is there something worth more money, yes. Is there something that handles better, yes. The list goes on, you can do this with any car in the world ever produced. The ownership of the car, the sentimental value, the way it makes you feel is why you buy an an older car

Agree with all that, and not apt to piss on the OP's Strawberries to be fair. Plus if it were a 1.6L it would be somewhat sttier than a Turbo.

Turbo is a different league, different chassis altogether Independent rear etc. I appreciate the cars not everyones taste but there are rude people in this world we live in. I dont think I'll be pulling my hair out tonight at his comment laugh

I'm sure your Mum will be looking down with a smile. Do you intend to lock the transfer box and do away with the hydraulics or keep the 4x4 system oem? Lovely motor by the way.

I had a grey ‘93 Turbo many moons ago. Loved it. Would love one again and still look cool.
When Vauxhall’s were great.
Great purchase and great reason to buy one. 👏
