Hi,
Really enjoyed reading your thread. I came across it a month ago whilst looking for a Carplay retrofit. Tried everything to get it to work in the glove box cradle but alas it just wouldn’t have it, which is a shame. Not sure what the issue was. I picked up a 2014 C250 last month. Went to see it at 33k miles, immaculate inside and out, so went for it, and when I picked it up the mileage was £23k! and it had all the invoices so was a true mileage. The manager came out and confessed they dropped a massive bk. Looking to get it remapped but I have the irritating noise from the rear, can you tell me how you got rid of it please?

Ah that’s a shame - does your car work with the Becker module ok? I know some models have in built sat nav and aren’t compatible , perhaps some have a dormant cradle. The rattle I had was around the third brake light. I found it by stuffing some folded Jiffy bags between it and the glass , but rectified it by pushing some micro fibre cloths from the underside of the boot which did the trick.
Hi, that’s possibly the problem, mine never came with the Becker unit but it has the cradle and socket. I’ll ask the garage to check it when it has a service.
Where did you put the cloths? Through the holes in the boot roof or down the back of the plastic where the lights are? Was thinking of putting some rubber pads on the plastic bit.
Cheers

You’re padding out between the ceiling of the boot and the underside of the ‘parcel shelf’ . So from the boot, look up and start filling the holes to test it. Where did you put the cloths? Used to do something similar with tennis balls on the E46 for the same reason.
