Time to address one of the MOT advisories as I've noticed recently the steering has felt a little more vague and the edges of the front tyres have feathered a little.

It's a long time since I've gone to the hassle of pressing suspension bushes in and out but with quality replacement suspension arms costing 3 times the price of good quality bushes I thought it would be worth the effort, time will tell.

Options were basically Lemforder arms or Meyle HD bushes, went with the latter. I'd used them for the drop links and was impressed with the quality and they're still fine now.

Will get to it this weekend hopefully.

You're going to have FUN biggrin
It was fun, with a capital F.

About 2 hours of faffing finding the right size sockets and a way to hold something square in the press that was never designed to be held square.

Still, I think i've saved £280 over buying new Lemforder arms, no doubt VW OEM would have been more still.

Gave them a lick of POR15 that I had left over, did it on the kitchen table, as you do.

I have taken to using a home-made tool (BMW cylinder head bolt, some stainless pipe, 1/4" steel plate, and some shouldered VW M12 nuts) Use the impact gun to push the new ones in and burn out the old ones. I have a press but wishbones are a stupid shape.

How did they come out? The last van I worked on everything was so seized in place took ag age and had to get the heavy 3/4" tools out.
We used one of the chinese hydraulic presses that use a bottle jack.

Took a bit of ingenuity to hold them in the right place and I think we were on the limit of it's capabilities at times but we got them shifted.

So almost 4 years to the day and she's gone.

Think it was the cheapest 2011 Transporter on eBay and I'll still made a bit of money.

I'd get another one but probably a Combi or Caravelle as we're soon to be a family of 5.

Only thing that went wrong was the Alternator and the doors hinges dropping.

Hopefully the new owner enjoys her as much as I did.

Now onto something new.
