soupdragon1, on a scale of 1 to 10, where 1 is “not at all” and 10 is “entirely”, how happy are you with the car you’ve won?
It's a good question actually. I've literally just driven it home, nervously, and I didn't enjoy the start at all but enjoyed the end.

Don't even know how to work everything yet so I'll not judge just yet....but as far as 1st dates go...... yeah, we might only have got to 1st base but she's certainly caught my eye smile

One last pic. The garage to the right has a standard size single garage door.

I mean, it's just not happening is it, trying to reverse an Escalade in there. Nope. Not happening.

Logged on to find more great posts!

Maybe one day in my elder years I'll have time to go back and reply to all of them - they've brought a massive smile to my face, that's for sure smile

She's in the driveway, looking clean and sweet yet tough as a Tyson right hook. The sun is out so a quick lunchtime spin to a scenic spot now and will get some proper photos done. Will post them up soon.

Photoshoot done!

Well, the daytime one.

Also going to do a night shoot, under the white led lights in the town rather than the yellow lights like last night.

They'll need a bit of a contrast hit to bring out the green of the trees etc, and a bit of sharpening to offset the compression when I upload on here.

One of my favourites. Better now!?

More pics time.

As previously mentioned, will do a few night time photos just out of curiosity, then onto the medium of video.

You can do private links on YouTube so that only people with the link can view it. So I'll do a couple of PH exclusive videos and post the links on here biggrin

I still want to go back and try to reply to several messages from people. Will need a few hours set aside as I feel a bit bad not answering everyone's questions now.

So heres the rest of the pics. Had to screenshot them to reduce resolution as files were way too big.. Hopefully they'll still turn out ok

These lights below come in a clear lens and a smoked blacked lens. I think the darker lens might have set the rear off a little better.

The wing mirrors are excellent. Such a great view. Which is good, as the rear view mirror is a little small.

Over the shoulder view is great for parking, much better than expected. Still doesn't hide its bulk, but good visibility helps a lot.

Will post the interior shots now.

In my opinion, best seat in the house is the back row. Comfortable, but with a pair of Captains chairs ahead of you, you're left with infinite legroom, even if you were 7ft tall.

I've a road trip across 3 counties next week, into Donegal for a music festival with 4 friends, so 5 of us in total. Escalade has arrived in perfect timing. I'll be well used to driving it by next week and loads of room for the lads and all the beer.

But yeah, my favourite seat.

I like this badge more than I should!

The door card brings me back to my Jaguar S Type. Carpet at the bottom of the door.

Plenty of space, and option for tons more by taking back row seats out. This is with back row still in place.

Clock showing wrong time. Need to figure out if its broke or if I need to do something. Car has no manual with it.

Windows are all massive and with sunroof open too, car feels really light, airy and spacious. Nice place to be, despite the retro (ancient) dashboard.

Back row

So that's it. Need to go to the grocery store now, sorry, I mean supermarket, I need to go to the supermarket. Someone asked for a pic in a car park beside a small car. I shall do my best to provide said shot smile

I love the fact you clearly know nothing about the clock and I don't mean how to use it...

Just hold the little black thing in and it'll adjust the time.

Just revisiting the first post (this May have since been addressed) but are these really £5k? Lowest seems to be about double that from what I can see? Ok...so far from £30k but nonetheless.
Thanks to some top digging midway through the 1st few days, PH sleuthing team found the actual for sale advert, £8995.

I originally got approx 5k from completed listings on ebay, and that was same year model, but much higher miles and not an esv extended wheelbase. Obviously, much happier today than I was back then - it's been an emotional roller coaster all the way, even AFTER I picked the car up yesterday and came face to face with a hillbilly on a desolate country lane! biggrin

And now that everyone has seen the scale of the car, you can easier imagine how nerve wrecking that drive would have been, 2 mins into ownership lol smile

Probably belongs in the bad parking thread but to be honest, I could shunt back and forward all day. It's not going to fit.

I set the left side to a position where I had a little bit of door room but right hand side isn't fitting.

Did a reasonably job of lining the rear up with the lines, just to see how much the front overshot the space. Wasn't enough room to sit directly behind the fiesta but you get an idea of the scale.

I guess the car parking at Disney Parks would be fine for this car but not many others. I'll not be visiting any multi storey car parks anytime soon, I can guarantee you that!

Up North

Next time you’re over drop me a PM and I’ll give you a ride in it. If you’re good I might even take you for a drive afterwards.
Lol - the imposter has returned!!! biggrin

You'll see me on the roads in County Antrim, mostly Belfast, Antrim, Randalstown areas. M2, Nutts corner, Dundrod - thats the kind of roads I'll be on most days.

Do you know Knockcairn Road? We used to have a house and some land there.
Yes, actually looked at a house there a few years back. Missus wrote her golf off not far from there, got hit side on from an old lady pulling out into her path while pregnant with our daughter - hence the X6 and previous large SUV before that.

Still loads more to share about the car and it'll definitely be much easier and quicker to do it on YouTube v type out 1000 words in a post.

The reactions of people have been hilarious. There is no stereotype driver for one of these. Strangers don't look at it and think x, y or z. They just think????? WTF have my eyes just seen?

Went to football last night, finished at 10pm but didn't get home to nearly 11pm. Everyone taking photos, asking me to pop the bonnet, rev it, take me for a spin. Don't go home yet soup, let me park my car beside it for scale so I can take some pics - nobody could quite believe the scale of it in the flesh as well as the enormous wheels.

My teenage son is totally mortified getting dropped off to the bus and picked up.

'Everyone on the bus is asking me about it and I keep having to tell them the story. Can we not just take the Volvo instead?'

My 8 year old daughter is loving it though. She is tiny, car is huge and she calls it a private jet on wheels. I let her and a few neighbour friends kids play in it yesterday.

Because she can stand straight up with headroom to spare, a young lad is captain of the plane the other kids are passengers and she is air stewardess, walking up and down the gangway, front to back serving snacks. Apparently you climb into the boot if you want to go to the bathroom. Er, no - we can draw a line at that bit if you don't mind.

In her school car park, a few young boys stopped dead in their tracks, starting pointing at it, calling friends over - come see, come see!

Still haven't got into what it's like to drive really, what the engine is like etc. Will come to that soon!

Nobody in the work car park wants to park beside me.

Someone has a Subaru outback, a fairly large motor in its own right. When viewed on its own, looks 'fairly' substantial....

But.... A bit of a crocodile Dundee moment when you park beside an Escalade... That's not an SUV, that's an SUV!

Stone me, that's gigantic! How easy is it to park.
Dead easy I imagine. When driving one of those isn't the attitude "don't give a st" rofl
laugh
Parking is a couple of shunts to do it right, or a couple of bumps if you're in a hurry.

Small cars are like speedbumps, inconvenient obstacles but manageable nonetheless biggrin
