What's your location. Will be picking up melvster from Nantwich. There are some nice routes out of Nantwich towards Llangollen. Pick up horseshoe pass and head into welsh hills. Have you got a sat nav and up for an early start.

I would recommend,

Triangle (B4501 first leg return leg is the A543), then head down to Bala for the B4391. Best way to get there is to do the return leg (south) of the triangle, turn right onto the A5, pass the Shell fuel station and then turn off onto the A470 which begins with a nice tight left hairpin and pass through a number of sleepy villages and little towns, feels like you go forever. Join the B4391 which then joins on to the A412 and then head back to the Horseshoe pass via the B4501, A5 and pass through Corwen towards Llangollen and then on to the Horseshoe pass.

A damn good day driving.

I have a Nav if you need to borrow one.

I would have to come from Tamworth way. Best route is M6 Toll and then A5.
Meet you at the Triangle?
Early start no problem for me.

Great driving roads out there, I have done the triangle before and the Élan Valley.
Bala is great also.

Sound like you boys have it sorted. Should be a good day. If we get there early it'll be nice and quiet on the roads.

Useful site. The road from Bala to Porthmadog is a cracker.

That looks rather nice, never explored that far, tend to do this route.
