Its going well thanks (touch wood!) - getting it serviced saturday, oil, filters, changer rocker cover gasket, plugs etc. Has new tyres on which transformed it. Just need to find a day to give it a good long run!
Runflats -> Non RFTs?It transformed my six series too.

No idea where you're based, OP. But my car just came back from an inspection (and a few bits of remedial work) at RBM in Hampshire. They aren't cheap, but they seem to know their onions when it comes to the Z4.
IME RBM are a bargain compared to BMW main agents!Ross (the R in RBM) worked at Sytner for 15 years before he set up RBM in late 2019 so he has worked on post 2000 BMWs since they were new.
My Z4M has been there a few times including an Inspection 2 then replacement bearing shells and engine mounts. My 3 Series has also been there more than once!

Are you sure you're not running spacers somewhere on the rear? I've seen a few non-M owners fitting the M wheels without issue - as in the photo below...
Also, the M has a slightly higher profile rear tyre (40 vs 35), but both should be the same 255 width.
I picked E86 Z4C up the other week with the M 224 wheels and they seem to stick out more than the picture above. Also, the M has a slightly higher profile rear tyre (40 vs 35), but both should be the same 255 width.

It's more noticeable on the rears than the fronts and particularly when viewed from the front.
RBM looks to be about 45 mins from me (im in SW London near the M3) so a good option. Can they fix my rear parking sensors!!!
Im going over to my parents house for the service, my dad is a retired mechanic and my brother runs his own business so about 85 years experience between the pair of them (my dad used to do high end stuff like E-Types, 928s, various Ferraris) so they also are quite handy with the spanners and have always worked on my cars.
I took off the Bridgestone runflats which was annoying as they had plenty left on them, and put on Michelin PS4's which are night and day, what a difference. I had heard horror stories about runflats but they truly are terrible tyres.

I sold mine, unless they were the ones from the 120d, which were worse. I think they wanted them because they did a lot of Motorway driving.Do you have Carly or similar diagnostic tool? It can be useful.

Did you mean you were near the A3, rather than the M3? I didn't even think the M3 came inside the M25?
I took a train to them to collect my car, which ended up being about 45min from Clapham Junction and a 10min walk the other end. All very easy.

BTW the M3 goes from J2 with the M25 to J1 at Ashford inside the M25.

I called them when I was looking for a Mini specialist to do some work on my track car, and they weren't all that keen on touching anything non-standard.My sister took her Mini to BBS and was happy with what they did.
I used TWG in Camberley for my BMWs for 7 or 8 years as Will who runs it is also ex-Sytner - link here:- http://www.twgautomotive.co.uk/
Very happy with them too. I took my Z4M Coupe there for a 4-wheel alignment in December as they have a 4-post lift and laser alignment - mainly because Will wanted it for his race cars!
It drives so much better now.

Thought I would do a quick update as we were having such a good chat on the Z4 Coupe Prices thread. Still love driving this thing, after 2 years in a VX220 where it was serious hardcore (albeit epic) usage I am so glad of the comforts it brings but still retains enough excitement.
I added some Michelin PS4s to the car, which made it a whole different beast, what a transformation. Why anyone would buy a this car and then try drive it on runflats bemuses me, they would be missing out on so much of what the car can offer. Also added some spacers front and back, the car looks so much more stanced, although subtle definitely makes it look more low slung and sporty.
The rear parking sensors seemed to fix themselves! My brother took a laptop to the car and identified the rear left one as the problem sensor and I bought a replacement but then they started working all the time. Strange. Might take the bumper off for a look anyway.
I bought a valve cover gasket and new handbrake pads and fitting kit (as the car squeaks when I get in and out and have identified it as the handbrake kit squeaking). I am heading to my parents house next week to get the valve cover gasket installed and the pads changed over. I am wondering if there is anything else worth doing whilst over there, DISA valve maybe? See replacements on ebay for about £80 might be worth doing as I just ticked over 70k miles.

Great thread
Not sure, but I think I might've seen your car on the Z4 Forum at some point.
If you're doing the valve cover gasket, I'd recommend the following whilst it's off:
- Valvetronic Motor gasket
- Eccentric shaft sensor (expensive)
- Eccentric shaft sensor gasket
Also, remember to buy some new bolts, as they're aluminium and single use

Ah I didnt realise that about the bolts. Will look into it. ThanksNot sure, but I think I might've seen your car on the Z4 Forum at some point.

And yes, I announced the purchase on the forum under the New Owners section or something.
How mine sits at the moment. I also forgot I made a very minor change which I think has a very pleasing effect, I changed all the blue triangles in all the BMW badges to black triangles (stickers!) and it really set off the black car well. I also put some flyeye stuff over the white side repeaters by the headlights to make it blend a bit more. Overall the car looks a lot sleeker I think.
