Will be going to test drive a Sandero and Duster weekend.

Last time I did I ended up with a Stepway for a few years, which bar the headlights was a great car.

Like the idea of a Bi-Fuel as there is no additional cost involved really.

So my TCe100 bought in Feb of this year for £10,500. A pre reg 2020 with 5 miles on the clock.

A few weeks ago WBAC valued it at £11,000, but today they have valued it at £11,835.

What's going on? An appreciating classic already hehe

That’s because you’ve got the sought after “Big Bang” motor with 100bhp. TCe90 is just a downgrade for the enthusiastic Duster helmsmith who wants to rip up the Autobahn for a few committed ‘ring laps.

Took a tce90/100 dual fuel out of both a Duster and Sandero the weekend.

Impressive cars, interior has come a long way since the 14 plate stepway I had some time ago.

The Sandero is far better suited to the smaller engine (obviously) but I think the duster will pip it for all round do anything duties and the LPG tank is a bit of a boon.

I think the residuals for the duster will be far better than the boggo sandero too.

I have been able to get around a grand off a Prestige spec one through car wow on a pcp ( which I would settle pretty quickly).

Has anyone any pointers for better deals before I pull the trigger?

Was there much info in the dealers on the Jogger? Think that's gonna be my next car depending on how similar the next gen Duster is to the current one and the price/size of the Bigster

Nothing in the showroom.

Odd thing the jogger looks like some sort of carriage built Sandero limo/funeral car biggrin

I dunno, I kinda like it, it makes me think of a stretched Skoda Yeti in concept. Shame the Yeti was never replaced as I always fancied one. Now Skoda only makes VW/Audi clones and have pushed their prices up its nice a company is building something quirky

When I ordered our Duster a few weeks ago, I asked the salesman about the Jogger and he had never even heard of it despite it bring all over the motoring press just a few days before rolleyes He seemed to have no interest in cars and said he usually just gets a briefing off his bosses a couple of weeks before a new model goes on sale.

I don't mind it, like slightly leftfield stuff coming to market the stale sea of VAG cars is so utterly dull, they don't make anything vaguely interesting.

Least the Roomster and yeti were a little out the box.

I have never met a car salesman that actually knows much about cars, certainly not much about the ones they are selling other than brochure info, rarely can they answer a technical question. Same with most sales people unless you go to a specialist place

When the RHD Mustang GT was announced I walked into my nearest big Ford dealer to enquire about it.

The salesman there was very concerned and told me it would be a very big car hehe

He finished with telling me that he reckoned it would be as big as a Focus.

Selling mainstream cars is more about people.

People are what a salesperson should focus on, as long as you've read the brochure you'll know more than most.

An enthusiast will already know everything there is to know anyway.

Unfortunately in my experience what they actually focus on is tricking the unwary into paying more than they should for things they don’t need. I’m sure they are not all like that, but there too many that are and spoil the car buying experience.

We are probably deviating away from an interesting thread but I agree. I think sales people are generally pretty rubbish they should know the products, most people aren't car experts. When I was searching for my current car and asking questions they on a number of occasions either outright lied or just looked up the answer, all they wanted to do was sell warranties, finance or extras. The fact I was a cash buyer actually put them off as they couldn't sell any of the pointless crap they were peddling. Same can be said for a lot of sales people in places like electrical shops etc.
