Back into a mad one: Renault Clio V6

Exhaust collected and will be going on along with a PH2 gearbox as soon as SGM can get it booked in.....will also be having a new starter motor and air-con pump but they're by the by.
Always fancied some decent pics, plenty about but never felt many of them did it justice. A mate of a mate is useful with a camera and fancies getting in to automotive photography. Out with him last night and the results speak for themselves.

All works now completed.
The difference in the gearbox is very noticeable, ratios are better matched and the shorter throw feels much better.
Re the exhaust, there is no boom whatsoever in the car and on a light throttle it's reasonably quiet. However, on anything but a light throttle it bordering on the insane

Hello bud, how're you?Not a chance was a great car but imo not a patch on the V6 in many ways. Yes, much faster and way more sensible but for me there is so much more to a car than speed and sensibility
We all read reports of poor customer service and how the standards of said service are kind of expected these days.
The car has Cobra RSR seats fitted, they've been in for 2 years now although mileage with them in is only around 8000 or so.
The left hand side of the drivers seat has started collapsing as though the foam has started to break down. Mailed Cobra yesterday to see how they'd recommend repairing it. Got a mail back today asking if I'd send a couple of photos to them which were duly sent.
Mailed back within 30 minutes saying if I could get the seat to them they'd repair it whilst I waited. They were also concerned the passenger seat could go the same way so they'd also like the chance to do that also.....all this would be free of charge!!
As far as customer service goes, this takes some beating and thought it was worth a mention.

Early this week someone managed to run into the back of the car whilst I was on my way down to Cobra Seats.
Rear bumper quite well damaged, exhaust a bit bent and the tailgate dented!
Car is now down at SGMotorsports, bumper and exhaust are repairable and tailgate is a standard Clio part. It complicates things a little that part of the wrap has to be removed to check for cracked panels etc. More damage may show up as he takes bits off.
The guy that ran into me has admitted full liability to his insurers so now just waiting for an estimate to be worked out and get approval. Scott will repair all that needs repair and I'll contribute to a few alterations whilst he's at it. I know I could load it onto the bill but I'd rather not.
It will end up with the lower centre section of the bumper that the silencer sits behind being removed ala V6 Trophy cars. A perforated stainless heat shield will be mad just wide enough to cover the silencer and will have the exhaust tips coming through it. It won't be acting as a heat shield as such, more of a case of hiding the silencer, they're never the prettiest thing to look at. The exhaust will have slightly larger straight cut tips instead of the standard Janspeed tips that are rolled edged.
That'll give me the look I want to the rear, a V6 Trophy appearance without an ugly exhaust on show.

Time for an update.
Eventually the 3rd party insurers approved the repairs. Despite the other driver involved admitting liability they were blatantly telling porkies to avoid progressing things. Saying they hadn't received the estimate even though the sender got a 'read' receipt, denying receiving photos of the damage, awaiting a 'specialist engineer' to look at the car yet the 'specialist engineer' who spoke to the repairer hadn't much idea what a Clio V6 was.....the list goes on.
Eventually decided to threaten legal action and spoke and mailed them highlighting the lies and lo and behold 2hrs later the repairs were approved....funny that.
The car has now been shipped off to the body shop for them to do their stuff.
It'll be back home soon

Not sure a Martini scheme would suit the car plus, something else might sit alongside it in the future that would suit a Martini wrap so wouldn't want two of them
The scheme it has is based loosely on the Catalunya entry into the V6 Trophy race series so sort of relevant to the car.
