Thank you, yeah I must admit I’m not really looking forward to the falseness of Dubai, but I live in Cheshire now so I’m pretty use to it haha. However I am a big believer in Nepotism and I have a LOT of contacts over there, I’ll be using my contacts and my own industry knowledge to try and better things over here. Honestly I think I can do more good over there than I can over here. How messed up is that?
I always fancied America but unfortunately since the pandemic it has become a place I don’t think I’d like to live. Such a shame too, our two countries are too similar in how it’s run and who is running it.
Sorry to hear about you leaving for your folks but it’s a very nice thing to do. Would you ever go back?

Nice rant - but if you genuinely think that Dubai is a 'lot more equal' when it has a massive indentured foreign workforce who've had their passports confiscated and are forced to work in slave conditions, then all that ranting about the UK is completely irrelevant.

Tbh, if you'd have said all that about the UK and were moving to various parts of Europe/Continental US - it'd make a lot of sense. UK governance is a state, as it is in many places - but few of those complaints regarding tax are particularly onerous. After all, they've not stopped you from living a life have they?

But holding the cesspit that is Dubai up as a model of excellence and fairness in comparison to the UK? Laughable.

Adding in the mention of your daughters, when Dubai ranks 120th out of 153 countries for gender equality... Crikey. You are aware of the number of women imprisoned for having consensual sex outside of marriage? Or getting pregnant out of wedlock? Or 'guardianship' where many of the 'rights' women have are only on the basis of formal permission from a male relative/spouse?
Are you ok? And I mean that genuinely.
Please show me anywhere I’ve held up Dubai as a model of excellence and fairness! I haven’t, because it’s not.
They ship people in to do the stty work, to clean the streets, to drive the taxi’s, to do the care work and all the other things that the locals are too precious to do, and after all that they still won’t be treated as anything but an immigrant……….oh wait, am I talking about the Windrush generation here!!!!!
Obviously you’re just bitter about something, obviously you just don’t like what I’m saying. And that’s cool. What I said wasn’t a rant though, it was purely factual. I’m not picking out certain things and trying to change the narrative like you are.

And yes, I’m very happy to take my daughters to Dubai. Do you know what the average childhood in the U.K. is now. And I say average so don’t start twisting my words and changing the narrative.
Most children come home from school and jump straight on their iPads or phones, most want to play with their friends online instead of play in the woods or a field.
I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen a group of children on their bikes just going for a ride. Why? because parents are so scared of what might happen to them.
So yeah I’d rather take my girls to a place where they can play out on the beach with their friends and not have them sat in the house on their devices.
Will I live forever in Dubai? No.
Will I come back to the U.K.? I doubt it.
Should any of this bother you? Not at all.

I'll absolutely go back. Mum sadly only has 6 months to live, dad will battle on but I honestly can't see him being around for much more than a few years sadly. So yeah will definitely go back.

The US is such a vast place, you just need to find the pockets of awesome. I was in Bend, Oregon and honestly it was just like the UK but with nicer people. I was very lucky that I had full healthcare with my job for me and my family, and my God it was so much better than the NHS is, understandably given the extortionate cost the company was paying.

There's loads i'm loving about being back in the UK, seeing my huge family, parents, the culture etc but wow the way this place is being run into the ground is like seeing someone relentlessly kicking a puppy.
Ahhhh st man, so sorry to hear about your mother. You definitely did the right thing coming back though, that’ll mean the world to her.
Would you go back to Oregon or look at somewhere else?
Yeah the culture over here is something I’ll definitely miss being over there, however it is time to move on. I’ll definitely do a lot of travelling whilst living there as from the Dubai airport you can pretty much get to anywhere with one flight. I quite fancy a few months in Bali.

I'm absolutely fine. Amused in fact.

Here's your words (direct quotes, no 'twisting'):

"So I'm off to Dubai where businesses can grow and everyone pays their own way and fair share."

Both those statements are bks. Your business (and many others) have and are successfully growing in the UK. People do not 'pay their own way and fair share' in Dubai - indeed it's far worse than here in that regard (but not for ultra high net worth chaps like yourself, so hey, you're alright Jack).

"Maybe have a think about the real reason why I'm moving, which is to go somewhere where things are a lot more equal than over here."

Again, complete nonsense. It's far more unequal in fact, with the Emirati and rich westerners having a completely different (enshrined in law) position to the indentured workers and underclass.

Yes, I know what the average childhood is like now. Because I have average kids in the UK. I'm not afraid for them to go out playing in the local woods/fields/beach - they choose not to in the main because of the appeal of the screen and online sociability. By your own words "most want to play with their friends online instead of play in the woods or field".

None of this "bothers me". As said, it amuses me how you're trying to use bullst justifications for ignoring everything other than a move to make you even richer. Especially when your children are female.
Honestly you could give an aspirin a headache.
Ok so let’s go over this one last time shall we.
Again I never said anything about it being a fair country or making it out like it’s a place of integrity, because there are no places like that. As long as there are people in this world with power, they will do whatever they can to maintain it. That’s in every country in the world. So calm down Jack.

Yes businesses can grow in Dubai much better than over here as they aren’t being taxed to within an inch of their lives. I’ll employ more people being over there than I ever would over here, thus creating more jobs. People do pay their fair share over there, you want medical help, you pay the doctors and the hospitals, you want to use any of their devices, you pay. Nothing is free, so yeah……everyone pays their fair share. How hard is that to understand.

How is living over there going to make me any richer when I’ll be spending more money on employing more people that will be living and working over here? The only difference is that I personally won’t be paying U.K. tax, however this will be far outweighed by the fact that I’ll be spending more on wages and infrastructures on my business over here.

So no matter what problem you have with me moving over there just keep it to yourself, you’re just starting to sound weird and bitter. A guy you don’t know is moving to a country you don’t like, so either stay on here for the car updates or leave so we can all get back to the important things like what was it like to drive the Singer and is there any other reasons I’m selling it? You know, the important stuff!

Re move don't blame you, it really does feel like the government wants to squeeze the last drop out of anyone working for themselves or employed. The only trickling down seems to be coming out of the water companies into the rivers.

We've had similar discussions but family ties/ need currently too strong for the next few years at least, only you know what is right for you and your family at this point in time- good luck with the move,
What was it like? Ermmmmmm, well let’s say that just because you can buy the best ingredients and throw them in a pan, doesn’t make you the worlds best dish.
Would I ever buy another Singer? Absolutely not.

Yeah that’s how it feels to a lot of my friends and clients who are running businesses, they are really worried about their future and actually I’ve lost 6 friends in the past 5 months to different countries. They are all off to pastures new. Fresh start and all that. Hope you do what’s right for you and if you stay then I hope the country eases a bit and if you move then I hope it all goes well for you.

Northern sweatshop call centre boss with 200 Lambos flees country to hole up in Dubai. Is anyone surprised?

Wouldn't normally post something like that, but Watt.co.uk are among the energy vultures sending me bullstty emails on a daily basis. No doubt the scam will continue to operate in the UK even from his tax haven abroad.

Just go direct to utility companies everyone, if someone calls you or emails you and you haven't asked them to, you're gonna get scammed.
I doubt very much that we’ve sent you an email and if we have then that’ll simply because your contract is up for renewal as we don’t do marketing emails. So please don’t tar me with your stty brush.
And yeah go direct to the energy companies if you want, no one is stopping you. However what we are doing at Watt is working with the suppliers and renewing as much of their customer base as possible so we can actually get a cheaper price book than what they have internally.
We disclose all our commissions which even if they are built into your price will 9 out of 10 times still be cheaper than what you’ll find yourself ringing round all the utility companies.
And I’ve never owned a single Lamborghini in my life, well apart from a tractor.
So it’s very easy to spew your stupidity online but actually take a moment to do some comparisons on our prices and what you’ll get if you go direct. And if this is how you think and act, maybe you shouldn’t be making these decisions when running a business. However if you want a price that’ll be cheaper than you’ll get direct, feel free to drop me a PM and I’ll do it for you for free.

Pete gets asked to come back here and update only to be subjected to accusations and abuse over his decisions to put his own family first. I expect everyone who's having a go is housing a ukranian refugee while living like they're on I'm a celebrity on ethically grown rice and beans while donating their entire wage packet to feed the starving in the third world yeah?
Thanks Andburg, I don’t mind a debate, hell i encourage with my girls. Won’t I don’t like is people making stupid remarks about things they don’t understand. Yes I own a utility company but I don’t spam people with emails, it’s actually one thing where we fall behind with the competition, because I don’t like it. The only time we send any emails out is when it’s a reminder about the customers contract. Something that if we didn’t do we would be slagged off for, so I can’t win either way.
What I will say though to the person who said I’m a vulture company. Do me a favour, find me the email I sent you, post it on here and we’ll see if it’s a marketing email or it’s actually about your contract that needs renewing. If it does need renewing and you haven’t done anything because you thought it was a spam email then unfortunately you may have rolled over onto deemed prices, which basically means you’ll be paying about 30% more than your contract prices. So that’s why you’d have received an email from us, but I doubt that very much.

You have sent me an email saying my account is flagged as being in the renewal window.

You're not the only company to have contacted me, but I can not see any reason why your company should have my details.

I don't know what the regs are on selling my data to companies like yours or where you get it from but it seems you are in Wave 2 and not officially appointed like the original company that contacted me - Bionic.

I went direct and got a cheaper price than the one offered by Bionic.
Ah ok, so 2 things, first one being that you’ve not shown prove of any email we have sent you, so I can only take your word on that one. However I did say that if you received an email from us then it would have been because you were in the renewal window and it wasn’t a marketing spam email.
The reason why I would have your details is because with a lot of the energy companies out there, they use us as a TPI to deal with their customers from an outbound perspective. So that’s why, and yes you probably did get a better deal than Bionic as they charge a hefty uplift in commissions.
Does that answer everything for you? Now can we please get back to talking about cars and not some fairytale you have made up. Cheers.

If you want to criticise him for his current decisions then read through the whole thread.

Read about his charity work.

Read about his kindness to strangers on the internet who have rides in dream cars thanks to him.

Have a look at yourself, if you still think he’s a prick and you’re so much better then thank you for being such a great person yourself, but maybe take a mark or two off for being nasty to a stranger for no real reason.

Other than that get the fk out, yes we have free speech and yes you can say what you want but don’t be the prick who makes this all stop. No one will thank you for it.

Lets get back to being nice, lets get back to being supportive, let’s get back to what PH used to be.
Hi Sheetmaself
Great name btw haha, thank you for the nice message. I appreciate it. You’ll always get people that want to argue, and the more you show them up, the more they’ll show their true colours and what they’re really about. And to be honest, I don’t let them bother me, not even one bit.
You see the thing is, whilst they are thinking about me and what they can say to hopefully ‘get one over’ on me, I don’t think about them, not one bit.
And that’s just because they’re not worth occupying my mind. They can do them and I’ll do me, but I know who’s happier and not full of venom. It’s an ugly trait from an ugly person inside.
Anyway I’ll post some pictures of the car I’ll be taking to the SCD secret meet.

Except they don't 'pay their fair share'. They die if they can't afford to 'pay their fair share'.

Edited by Sway on Thursday 6th July 17:37
Regardless of what you think Sway, and it’s weird you care so much.
I do more charity work than you’ll ever do, so if I have more money, then I’ll donate more money and do better things with it, because I can control where it goes.

Just yesterday I gave some Wimbledon tickets to some young kids so they could watch in centre court. I could have sold them and pocketed the money but I didn’t. I also gave away my F1 tickets for Silverstone this weekend because I’m busy, I didn’t sell them. I gave them away.
On Instagram in a few short minutes I’ll be donating 4 x Goodwood FOS tickets for Thursday to anyone that suggests someone for their good deeds.
On the Friday I’m flying a terminal man called Steve down to Goodwood via helicopter as it’s on his wish list.
The Saturday and Sunday I’ll have some very special Goodwood tickets from Cartier as my 275 will be shown on their lawn and they are giving me free accommodation, meal at Goodwood house, passes, drives up the hill, free food and drink, the lot. However instead of going, I’ll also be donating this on Instagram too.
So please mate, stop, because you’re making yourself sound like a fool.

And as far as paying your fair share goes, I still stand by that. It comes back to the whole socialist bit from before. I mean it’s Economics 101.
If more comes out than what goes in then soon there’ll be nothing in the pot. Then everyone suffers.
How many homeless people do you walk past on the street without stopping, picking them up and housing them? All of them.
