My LFA is finally ready.

Hi Pete,
I have some questions if you would be so kind...?
- How come there is no LaFerrari/LaFerrari Aperta in your collection? - surprised as you are a big Ferrari lover
- Apart from the tractor would ever own another Lamborghini?
- Would you have the F40 or the F50 if offered to chose? (Romans International in Bansted have a red F50 on offer at the moment)
This is by far the best thread on here, you are so open and honest with all aspects of your life. The world needs more people like you
Cant wait to see what the surprise addition to your collection is

How do you earn so much money!
I'm approaching 32 and still sub £30K a year it's really starting to become reality that I will never own a supercar and it hurts - a lot
TBH All I want is the Supra for sale on here for £9,990 too and I can't afford that!

I've looked at that supra a few times and keep considering pulling the trigger on a loan to get one or a similar price skylineI'm approaching 32 and still sub £30K a year it's really starting to become reality that I will never own a supercar and it hurts - a lot

You don’t get rich working for someone unless you become CEO etc. Starting a business is where the big money is. I'm approaching 32 and still sub £30K a year it's really starting to become reality that I will never own a supercar and it hurts - a lot

No LaF because I’m simply too big for it, not comfortable and the view out the windshield was too hindered.
Only a Miura, I just don’t like Lamborghini as a brand. I live in Cheshire so there’s plenty (and I do mean plenty) of Lambos around here. To me they’re just boring.
Haha, as far as the last question, I’ll keep quiet about this one.
So glad you’re enjoying the thread, please remember though that it’s you guys that make this thread not me. I’m just some dumbass with a bit of money that likes cars. This thread could have been easily overlooked but it’s you wonderful people on here that have given it legs.
Cheers

Hi Pete.
I have asked this already, maybe my question got buried, I'm sure you struggle to keep up with them!
I notice you don't have any hybrid or electric cars, ie. LaFerrari (you've just answered that though), P1, 918, BMW I8 or Tesla.
Is that deliberate, they not floating your boat?

So no, you don’t need to be a CEO to earn good money, you just need to show your worth to the company.
The British and the Americans have a completely different take on employing the right person.
The British will say “You’re perfect for the job role but unfortunately we just can’t afford to take you on”
The Americans will say “You’re perfect for the job role, we cannot afford to not take you on”. Double negative I know but still!!
Tonight I’ve just been to Land Rover and bought my sales director (29 year old) a brand new Rangey Sport. Why? Because he asked me if he could have one, I said yes if you hit a target for me then no dramas. I ALWAYS keep my promises so come 1st June he’ll have his brand new 2018 sport.
You ask me how I make so much money when really the question should be ‘what do I do as a job?’
Money is a byproduct of the effort you put into your work.
Simply having a job will never make you wealthy (if that’s what you really want) as job is an acronym for Just Over Broke. However please don’t focus on money, trust me it’s a vulgar thing that can easily ruin your life as much as it can make it better.
Give me an option between being wealthy or having perfect health and it’s an easy decision. Health before wealth.
Sounds like I’m preaching but I’m seriously not. It’s just all about perspective.
I understand that you (Jammy) really want that Supra and that the thought of you being 32 and never getting the chance to own a Supercar is bumming you out but honestly there’s different things to be aiming for.
I guarantee that you are better than me at hundreds of things, and that’s the kind of things you should be focusing on. I get more enjoyment out of my dogs than I ever will with my cars, I’m just about to marry my best friend, we have a daughter that’s simply a joy to be around, and I get to work with my brothers everyday.
Trust me when I say this, there’s plenty more to life than material crap and money.
I’m boring myself now so I’ll leave it there. Happy to answer any follow up questions though.
Cheers
Pete

I’m sorry but I’ve got to disagree with you 100%. I’ve got telesales that work with me pulling out £250,000 per year. They work Monday to Friday, 9:15am - 5pm. Early finish pretty much everyday now as they are smashing targets. Most of them do about 30hrs per week. One of the companies most recent success stories is from a very young yet talented girl called Devon that works with me. She’s just turned 22 and bought her first house, a £265,000 detached house. I’m so happy for her, we all are.

My job is effectively managing and supporting people who have acquired brain injury. Never was a truer word spoken Pete, you’ve nailed it.So no, you don’t need to be a CEO to earn good money, you just need to show your worth to the company.

I worked for 15 years in IT and hated it. I’ve got more of a sense of satisfaction in the last 4 years I’ve spent in my current role, and it’s completely transformed my outlook on life, and what I want.
You can’t overvalue what you have today, it might change overnight.
Also, sweet cars!

If it was anyone else, I'd be calling custard on a £250k telesales job. I'm guessing it's not quite the typical cold calling that most telesales jobs involve though. So no, you don’t need to be a CEO to earn good money, you just need to show your worth to the company.
I think company size will often determine job progression and pay. Larger companies have set pay grades with progression being slow and linear. A £250k+ salary in a large company will only be for very senior positions, which can't feasibly be achieved until later in life.
Smaller companies on the other hand where the MD / CEO regular sees your performance and / or works closely with you, then I could see fast progression and a salary that more accurately reflects worth.

Fair point on the custard test but please let me assure you I’m not lying about this, I don’t need to, I’ve got nothing to gain from it. My guys aren’t cold callers, they tend to focus on corporate accounts. We count clients like Caterpillar, Gulf Racing, Victoria Beckham, Christian Louboutin, Handlebanken, Overfinch, IHG, as just some of our corporate accounts. I only pay a small basic wage but pay 15% commission on everything. So it’s very much a case of the more I pay out, the more I make. Simple business model really.
Anywayyyyyyy, back to the cars.

Love that final saying, I’m definitely going to be using that. I worked for 15 years in IT and hated it. I’ve got more of a sense of satisfaction in the last 4 years I’ve spent in my current role, and it’s completely transformed my outlook on life, and what I want.

Thank you for taking the career change to help others with brain injuries. You are a good man sir.

I was thinking about the Speciale Aperta but any excuse to drive the biposto. So hopefully if Jordan isn’t being a firefighter for the day then yeah I’ll do a video. I need him to bounce off, his definitely the looks behind the show haha

It's perfectly possible in the energy/utilities broker space, if you're good and focus on corporate accounts. Sales is a meritocracy and with the right MD/company owner focus (ie not capping commissions etc) the teams can be very well (and justly) rewarded for their contributions.
