I wouldn't say you should, you'll end up £10-15k worse off after it! Haha.

Could well be me, as I do live in Droitwich smile Speed bumps are OK, just need to crawl over them. Only bottomed out once on one, when I tried to take it far too fast.

If you live in Droitwich, and would like a test drive, you are more than welcome smile
Cool, I'll give you a wave next time, alas I'm in a grey A4 estate - one off by that seem to frequent Droitwich lol

Had a test drive of a GT86 yesterday - an auto, unfortunately! Liked very much and may get one next year, though I would only consider a manual (would happily have an auto generally, just seems wrong for gt86/brz). Don't think a turbo or supercharger is for me, and I found it quite fast enough for general use - although I approve very much of what the OP has done, it isn't for me - the ludicrous growth in standard wheel size over the years is a pet hate of mine and I would want to stay with 17 inchers, standard brakes etc. Though the Milltek exhaust and ecu upgrade offered by Litchfield looks interesting

Does the AVO kit have unequal length headers given its FI?

Does it now have the boxer burble?

Yes and yes smile. The burble will be better, though once the new exhaust is fitted.

There are actually a number of turbo options available in the USA, the problem being (in my opinion anyway) is that whilst it is relatively easy to cobble together a turbo kit to fit a car, it is the subsequent tuning, and resultant reliability which differentiates what is a good, and a bad solution, especially for a daily driver.

My logic behind the selection of the AVO / Fensport solution was as follows:
1) AVO is a long established company (along with greddy), so they do know what they are doing.
2) The AVO kit has the turbo low down, replacing the existing exhaust manifold / primary cats, so the heat source is kept in an area designed for it. I am a bit worried with heat soak issues with a top mounted turbo installation.
3) Thirdly, and most probably the most important factor was having Fensport as the UK agents for AVO, so I know the whole fitment, and subsequent re-mapping of the ECU has been done properly by a known company with excellent credentials. The majority of the US kits rely on 'remote' re-mapping, whereby you are provided with a base map, and then have to take data logs to be sent to the 'tuner' for revision, and then you are e mailed back an updated map to reflash the ECU. Whilst this is obviously a very cost effective way of making a lot of money for the tuner, it certainly does not instill the necessary confidence in me, with a project that is costing close to 40k (if I include the initial purchase price, as well as the suspension, wheel and other upgrades I have made).

Great thread.

How much was the hinged armrest? That really does look nice, should've come with the car.

Do you have a link to any fitting instructions for the reverse camera, would it be a simple job for someone with the mechanical skills of clarkson?

Not a difficult job, but Clarkson may battle a bit smile

As the eBay link's closed, the armrest's ~£110

I noticed yesterday on Toyota.lu that they have the rear camera as an option, for €450! laugh

Wow what a thread! Really did enjoy reading through the whole thing (I usually get bored before half way..!)

I love how no expense has been spared, and you have a fantastic car to show for it!! Has it been mapped yet? smile
