They look much better. Sadly my Scorpio was a sea of black. Raven Black paint (which did have a nice sparkle in the sun to be fair) but black seats, dash, carpet, etc.
Although it did make finding parts easier.

Cleaned it this Sunday and made a short video for it.

The offside rear door is really starting to suffer, will have to think about fitting the spare door I’ve got soon. I also managed to pick up a new old stock front wing so I’ll use that as template to repair both existing wings (missing lower arch liner support) , eventually I’ll replace the wing completely as it is starting to rust

Really enjoying seeing one of these get the love they deserve. As Smith and Sniff would say "rare but nobody cares". My Dad had a 2.9 Ghia X V6 when I was about 10/11, a black 5 door hatch, but it had the full RS bodykit and RS 7 spoke wheels. All my mates thought it was epic! So spacious and comfortable as well as being quick, I was gutted when we went to France on holiday and had to take my mums Mitsubishi Spacewagon as my Dad was worried about catching the RS lip spoiler on the ferry ramp
The cruise control thing reminded me that I once had a VR6 Passat auto with cruise. My favourite trick was to leave the cruise set at 75, crawl onto a motorway sliproad and hit the resume button, and watch as the pedal went to the floor on its own and the car redlined through all the gears to get up to speed
Hope you get many more miles of enjoyment out of yours, been a great read so far.

Today I did a long run from Shropshire to Doncaster
Cold start, mainly A roads and motorways. Cruise set to indicated 70mph. One blast up the A38 north bound towards the M1 junction , it’s hill just out of Derby, bit of fun. But the rest was restrained and gentle
I think could have seen 32-33mpg. Not bad for 2.9 V6, thoughts ?
For reference
Odometer is 1.92% accurate measured on a journey there and back and averaged the error
Speedometer is 6-7% in error so actual cruise speed was lower than 70mph
Trip MPG is on average 2.6% in error . True mpg tank to tank is actually better

Looking great again with that sunroof tilted. In the 80s everyone wanted a sunroof but in the 90s A/C became more desirable.
Having A/C and an electric sunroof was one of the things I loved about my 1985 Scorpio. My 1994 Mercedes C280 had Climate and electric sunroof and my current BMW 330i has electric sunroof and dual-zone Climate - perfect!
So here’s the interesting update
I found a Cosworth Granada Scorpio for sale, pretty cheap in a barn in Wales, the photos were clear this is unlikely to be saveable as the rot is extensive, but it’s all there.
Cosworth engine, gearbox, limited slip differential and other top of the range goodies.
The plan is to sell parts to keep other Granadas going and take what I need and unfortunately the shell will be scraped it’s in a extremely poor state, the front bumper basically fell off
The upgrades I would like is the automatic beam adjustment, tilting rear seats, door puddle lights, AC and of course the cosworth drivetrain. This won’t be converted quickly as I want to enjoy the 12V car as it is now. But I know in the future I would itch for the Cosworth / I like having more features. The hope is the loom is shared and a few items will plug in. But let’s see.

Seeing the state of that 24v makes me appreciate what lovely condition my dad's 24v is in. He's had his 1993 model since 1994, and it is always garaged and looked after. He only does a tiny mileage in it every year now(about 30 miles a year), but he always keeps it taxed and MOT'ed though.
Weirdly the Granada 24v Cosworths haven't gone up in price like other old Fast Fords have though. Strange...because they seem to be the only Fast Ford that hasn't appreciated in value in comparison to all the others. I personally think that they deserve a bit more recognition though, especially the engine anyway. Their spec is lovely too, and I've always enjoyed sitting in it/driving it over the years for definite.

I never experienced one of these, but a MK2 2.8 Injection manual did make quite an impression when I was a kid. What smooth, quiet and quick motor that was.
Nice to see the 24v motor being used in another Granada, although I do have a soft spot for the Capri conversions also.

It might be harder fitting the bits to another Granada in a factory way as the loom is huge. There’s a sensor, light and switch for everything. A good challenge though
The rear end is now fully stripped, tomorrow I’ll clear the front ready to remove the drive train
Unfortunately as you can see there was little point saving the shell

While that 24V is a great colour the shell definitely looks well beyond economic salvation. And as much as I like the idea of a 24V transplant into a Capri it's good to see this one will get fitted to another Granada.
My niece and nephew were in their early teens when I had my Scorpio and were always playing with the rear seat recline!
Hopefully the loom is shared, but even if it isn't you have the right one in the 24V - it will just make swapping things a bigger job.
Keep enjoying the 12V and I can't wait for the 24V updates!

I would get a complete stainless exhaust system fitted , with a higher flow manifold /back box, that engine will sound great if done correctly...!
I have a 2002 BMW E46 318, with the 2 litre variable valve cam, but when I acquired it a couple of years ago, ( it had only done 69,000 miles but now has 93,000 ) the engine was far too subdued.
I fitted a stainless steel less restrictive back box and a high flow air filter, and the difference is amazing. Not too loud but a lovely sound and it is more responsive.
Presumably there will not be too much modification to fit the Cosworth engine to yours ?
I would get a complete stainless exhaust system fitted , with a higher flow manifold /back box, that engine will sound great if done correctly...!

That’s the plan, I have a friend who’s owns a motorsport fabrication business, the initial quick plan is a full stainless system back from the log manifold at decent diameter to limit the pressure loss. A couple of silencers to quieten it down. That’s to get the car going. Most exhausts are now rotten so it’s a necessity. I would get a complete stainless exhaust system fitted , with a higher flow manifold /back box, that engine will sound great if done correctly...!

The next stage will be equal length headers to replace the log manifold, I suspect this will release a few more bhp and give a much nicer sound. Purely doing these later to ensure the car isn’t sat for too long. This section will have the stock O2 sensors per bank and 2 wide band lambda sensors for my next plan. Which is a stand alone ECU in parallel to the stock ECU (stock ECU to read sensors but not connected to injectors, so as to output the correct signal to the trip computer) . I suspect there are a few gains to be made with fuelling and ignition timing, especially if I run only 98 octane for the E5
