Kurt have you thought of getting the Wing Mirrors off an SRi? Apprently they are really hard to find, but they look really good.
£200 odd quid they are arn't they?
Sorry, for that price it's a bit of a joke. That much money for a set of mirrors, no thanks.

They do look good though i agree!

Got ya - thread started over a year ago.

I think you need to stop messing with the Corsa.

It's got gradually worse in the last 12 months.

It now looks kinda silly.

The above is a said in a friendly way.
Ah all taken into consideration. I have spent around £200-£300 mark on mods to this. I personally think its worth it. I like to add personal modifications to the cars and bikes i own. Why? Well because im a petrolhead and i enjoy it. If i had i knew about car mechanics and could affort the insurance for engine modifications then i'd do that. But i dont. So its just visual modifications. I'd possibly be able to make a good £100-200 quid back on the modifications i've spent when i come to putting the car back to standard for selling.

Anyways. The best modifications for me where the vinyl. The exterior ones that i fitted yesterday cost me £2.20 and about a hour and a halfs work. Then the interior cost me around £7 and a good few hours to do. Big change from standard and i like it.
Does the £200-£300 include insurance? Interested as i'm not sure about doing a few visual things to my ZR but not sure about the insurance hike of adding stuff.

No it doesn't. Insurance is a funny thing when it comes to modifications. I couldn't speak for all insurers but somethings for me are penny's to change and some are rather costly. I'd check with your insurance first as i did. Then decide if its worth it.

Thats just for the Mirror unit, it dosen't include the Base Plate. I'm glad they came standard on mine hehe.

The only things I can see possibly affecting it are the springs and the alloys. Back when I had my Ibiza I don't think the springs made much of a cost difference, and I've never actually swapped wheels, so no idea about that. The rest of the stuff I'd imagine is pretty much a non issue. Though with that story a couple of months ago with an insurer kicking up a stink claiming that some new floor mats and a steering wheel cover were 'modifications' to some girls car, it depends on how much of an arse your insurer is I guess!
I'd imagine some stickers on the interior (in effect, I do like em!), removing rubber strips and having a painted grille aren't going to make f**k all difference to anything really.

Personally i'd say it wouldnt look that good on yours. Because of the colour of yours i'd go with some alloys that are a little bit lighter. smile

I like some of the modifications, but it seems now that you have fallen into the habit of modifying for modifying's sake, rathen than modifying to improve.

Anyway, your money, your car - if it makes you happy then why not?
Don't let the PH...

Not a fan of the blue tiger interior if I'm honest. Not a fan of the black rims, it doesn't go well with the colour of the car.

I wouldn't say it's chavvy. Chavvy is massive bodykits with 1635 exhausts coming out of the back and chrome rims.
I still think it looks better standard. As said before, that colour isn't one to modify with. Doesn't look too bad, and it's your car, if you like it then that's all that matters.

Improve a 1.2 Corsa? You must be maaaaaaaad! To spend money on engine modifications is just a waste of time in my opinion. It's still going to be a slow car. All i've done performance wise is a cone filter that i got for free and if you can count the -40mm springs then them. smile

Ahhh that old tappy'edy tap from the timing chain. Yes mines bad too. Its okay though, it gets drounded out by the hole in the exhaust that needs replacing. Sounds like a Subaru i'll have you know! hehe

Thanks for your useless reply opinion rolleyes
Just because someone doesn't like it doesn't mean you have to get defencive.

I think it looks horrible IMO, but so what, its your car to do what you want with it.

I would have said chavtastic if he didn't beat me to it. Chin up smile

I've grown tired of those comments. I think that the saying "aint got nothing nice to say... etc" is useful here.

Also, i did point out, i didnt need everyone's negative opinions again,

Awaits the old people to come along and shout "you've ruined that car. Looked so better standard". Yeahhhhhhhh, sod off!
I think this would be better off on a website for "modified corsa's", hence my opinion.
