Yeah it is a great paint colour too but that’s already been done and it’s Mercedes Obsidian Black. The Damson leather does look good I’m gonna try and get a sample to match it
I think the damson interior would be a great match to a black exterior. it looks better in reality than photos. craigjm said:

Just saying the purple is a bit Cadbury milk chocolate.
Bentley diamond double stitch as well? If you want a more quilted look ask your upholsterer to double up on the foam scrim or ask for a sample of different thickness so you get what you’re after
No Damson is much darker than the Cadbury colour when you see it for real. I think I’m gonna stick with the ribbed effect they have on the XJS seats. I did originally think diamond on the red but I think it’s a bit overdone these days Bentley diamond double stitch as well? Have sent off for a number of colour swatches today in dark purple, dark green and dark blue to see what they are like.
Ok so those of you that have been following for a while will know the car now has XKR brakes and the callipers are Honda Competition White.
I am going to have a set of fuel rail covers made for the engine in the same colour with Jaguar lettering to totally boil the **** of the purists
Got me thinking. The car had stainless door sill covers at the moment. Here is a terrible photo from pre restoration
As the carpeting will be black I was thinking we could strip the door sill guards and paint them the same competition white and have red Jaguar font lettering saying something like “Jaguar XJ coupe” or “Jaguar XJ coupe 6.2 v8” or similar. Make them stand out against the black carpet and black paint.
Thoughts?

Not my taste, personally, and I really don't see why you'd add in the engine size and configuration. Your car, of course, not mine. Thoughts?

They will be VERY obvious against a black carpet and dark leather. Your call, but I think that might cross the line-of-taste from cool to crass. Thoughts?

Yes thats why this little team is quite useful the other thought was to strip them and redo them (they definitely need that) and then do the lettering in black. It currently just says Jaguar in a slightly different shade of silver but I was thinking of changing it to Jaguar XJ Coupe
For me, brushed stainless with Jaguar on would be ideal. Too much writing otherwise I thinkRobXjcoupe said:
You could get the Jaguar letters cut out and back lit so it lights up when the door is opened. Im keeping mine blank. I have originals in aluminium but they are a bit too precious to ruin when I eventually use the car so I’m replacing with just plain no etching polished stainless.
I did think about that just wondered how you would do it in such a flat profile craigjm said:
