Bobberoo’s Ford Fetish Thread (Warning: Contains Peanut)
Discussion
Thanks bungz, it is hilarious to push on in, first time I've been able to really push it since we bought it without Mrs Bobbers squinying from the passenger seat, as you say it revs for fun but pulls the whole way!!
Hi Nyloc20 and thanks for reading the thread, I dread to think how many Ford's I've owned over the years, my first car was a Mk2 Cortina 1600E, followed by three mk5 Cortinas, a brief spell in a Cavalier, then a Sierra, a very brief spell with an Alphasud, back into another mk5 Cortina, then a Cortina Crusader, an Orion, a mk2 Fiesta, an Orion Injection Ghia, an Escort Eclipse (H reg), another mk2 Fiesta, another Escort Eclipse (J reg), an Escort TD estate (M reg) which we put 100k on over 7 years, a mk1 Focus 1.8 Ghia estate, a mk1 1.6 Ghana hatch, alongside an 01 Fiesta Flight(huge ICE install), and then the previous Mk2 Focus and that brings us up to the two we have now!!!
And I may as well update while I'm here, oil leak is either cam belt housing gasket and/or crank seal, they're not concerned about it as after cleaning the engine and running for an hour it hadn't reappeared so they'll check it again when it goes back in on the 1st of June for the first of its upgrades............

Stuff has been ordered, I could just leave it at that, but the suspenders suspense might prove too much for some, so what have I ordered then???
How about Bilstein B4 shocks, an Eibach sport kit, 4x springs with-30mm drop and around 20% uprated and Mintex discs and pads, all to be fitted on the 1st of June along with new front strut tops and a brake fluid change!!!
I was going for a remap too but unfortunately Admiral refused to insure it if I did, so that'll have to wait until Christmas when the insurance is up for renewal, bizarrely they only charged me an admin fee for the suspension mods!!!
But when that happens the car will be insured through Adrian Flux who've already quoted me less than I'm paying now!!

Not that car. It was my father’s Renault. New discs and pads fitted relatively easily except the final step of refitting the spring clips
After spending what felt like hours trying to refit the clip on the first side I had to walk away and have a coffee before trying again. The second side went on a bit easier.
I replaced the pads on a Audi Q3 last month and that had very similar clips, but they went back on without any hassle. Not sure why the Renault ones were so difficult.
