With our car buying/selling history, it wouldn't be the strangest thing ever for it to end up back with you hehe

After the SLK55, you'll find this very sedate though.

Can't tell you how much this little car makes me smile. It's one of my favourite owned-cars ever, genuinely.

It’s an old thing with a ruck of miles on it and It owes me very little.
I still think it looks great.
Yeah look at the lines, this era of BMW is getting better and better with age

Yeah, agree, it looks good. Nice work.

Is that your house? Your wonderful garden looks to suit a different sort of gaff.

Well spotted, I'm down with my dear Maw in Shropshire. A lovely modern house, well built, all mod cons.

Living where I usually do is like painting the Forth Bridge.
I lap up the garden work to avoid the never-ending list of jobs that the old place throws up.

I agree with you and I think Bangle might have been just ahead of his time.

I'm still not keen on a lot of what he did, but I think the E85 styling holds water.

Worth it though. Terrific personal space.

Such an amazing plus, especially during the lockdown of 2 years ago.
We felt very lucky.

Wrong thread for it, but have a picture of the garden from last year mit burd AND Lexus, just because.

If only I could afford a W113 Mercedes SL pagoda doofer.
It would look at home here.

The old Z4 will have to do for now.

I hadn’t intended to change or upsize the wheels, honest.
Damn you, Facebook Marketplace.

I blame the new 335 thread of Court-S and all those egging him on to get CSL alloys pronto.

One thing led to another and now I have these sat in the garage:
Staggered setup with the wider, concave rears.

Ideally in need of a refurb (which I won’t be doing just now, I’ll get used to the new offsets first before I kerb them prematurely) and definitely new tyres.

Michelin PS4s seemed a little extravagant for this car, as much as I love it. But with the Blackcircles 15% discount, it only works out as another £20 per corner compared to the likes of midrange tyres such as Kumho and Nankang.

Bit of a no-brainer. I’ll get it organised before I put my sensible head on.

Probably the last update from me, my time with the little Z is drawing to a close and I'm genuinely sad about it, strangely.

Without going into specifics, personal health reasons last year saw me offloading a few cars in readiness for a stint of not being able to drive. I had visions of keeping the Z in the garage not taking up a lot of space and would give me something to sit in and make brum-brum noises.
A stay of execution on the licence front has seen me acquire a couple of cars recently; a Cooper S which will be much more practical for everyday use (but still a bit of driving fun) and a FFRR L322 3.6 TDV8 which will be a replacement for the OH's Volvo XC90.

I have to fight the urge to keep the Z4 to use over the summer with the top down; the time is right just now to sell it on. It's booked it next week for it's MOT and then it's Auf Wiedersehen, my little friend.

It's just been fitted with clear-lens headlights and side repeaters. That's £400 I won't be seeing again!
Never got around to fitting the CSL alloys, though, so they'll go separately.

That's really sad news. frown

But health is way more important and I wish you all the best with that. thumbup

I don't think you are on z4forum but if you are advertise those wheels on there as there is no selling fee, even for new members. I've seen so many Z4s on CSLs or Reps of some sort I sold mine and went back to OE wheels to be different!

love a bit of z4 action, ours looks a bit different and is the 3.0.

Really rather underrated cars

Oh that's quite some timing seeing as I've been looking at Z4s and MX5s recently...

I may be interested in keeping this thread going biggrin

I *have* been somewhat pining for my old grey E89 recently but the prices have gone nuts since I got rid in September '19 - I'd barely get into a 6 cylinder now for what I sold it for (£8k), let alone another well-specced 35i cry

Feel free to PM me with the number you're after! I've needed an excuse to get up your way to visit my friend in Glasgow for some time so this may be a bit of a stars-aligning moment laugh

That would be awesome and well worth the ban to be soon incurred by lemansky for promotion and advertising of his vehicle laugh

Car looks great, shame it’s time to move it on but it’s only a car. Which era Cooper S have you bought?

CSL’s are ace by the way! hehe
