Ha! Cheers, yes I had spotted that on UKSaabs I think, it looks rather nice and has the older front end style that balances the booted shape better than the later CS front end mine has.

As of this morning I have taken a deposit on mine on a spares or repair basis (I suspect it will be for spares!)

The final nail in the coffin was the heater matrix started leaking last week, and whilst not a killer blow in itself I've looked into replacement and it looks an absolute pain in the arse job to do. CBA!

No replacement for now (says he....) as I still have four cars taxed and insured, none newer than 2004 and I think they'll keep me busy enough!

I will really miss the 9000 though, it has given me two years of trouble free service for next to naff all cost wise. I suspect that if a nice Aero fell into my lap, I'd find it very difficult to refuse... wink

Watched the old girl drive away on Saturday with genuine sadness. At least the good bits of her (and there are still many) will help other decent examples live on.

Now that I no longer have any winter tyres, perhaps I should put £50 on a white Christmas....??

Did you get paid out for the crash damage and buy it back, or just not bother claiming?

It's a shame it ended like that, they're lovely old cars.
Ridiculous as it is, it is still rumbling on. At least my insurers are happy I was in no way at fault and have sent out proof of no claims reflecting this.

To be honest, even if I never see a bean from the third party insurer, I can hardly complain at two years enjoyable and trouble-free motoring for less (net) than a nice meal out!! biggrin
