Bit of an update, after much deliberation over what intercooler to go for i went for the airtec gen 3 stage 2 cooler with the rs scoop, fitting was ok,no need to remove the bumper, just undertray and lower bumper trim then you can access the intercooler.
Got the new cooler fitted and the car is driving great, boost pressure is up from 0.68 bar to 1.0 bar max boost.
Not to sure why it has increased boost pressure, maybe something to do with the uprated diverter valve, just couldnt notice it with the standard intercooler?
Car just feels more alive, boosts a lot stronger and pulls very very well.
Anyway the sleeper look is well and truelly out the window.

Spec just now is
Group a induction kit
Rs plugs
Uprated diverter valve
3 inch down pipe
3 inch de cat
3 inch centre box delete pipe
Standard rear box
Airtec gen 3 stage 2 intercooler
Grooved discs with uprated pads.
Colour coded bumper grilles.

I was heavily involved with the ST scene pretty much from launch. Economy is, on the whole, tragic for the power output and there's no point taking the car to more than about 300bhp which is easily achieved with a few minor mods. They really can't put much more than that down on the road so chasing bigger numbers is broadly pointless.

In all honesty? Don't waste your money, but a car that was designed to have more power - and deploy it - in the first place.

I've watched guys on the ST forum chuck thousands and thousands at their STs and end up with a car that doesn't justify the money. If you accept it's a good hot hatch and nothing more it's fine. But 350-400bhp? Don't bother.
Totally agree with you, economy doesn't bother me,but anywhere between 280-300bhp once I'm finished I will be happy with.
That's the goal anyway.

Power level will depend on the dyno. We hit about 285 on a Dyno Dynamics RR.
What mods did u have?

Bit of an update, since getting the bigger intercooler on the car is certainly getting through the fuel a bit more, not even really driving it that much harder.
Finally managed to get rid of the naff cheap chrome looking st badges, much prefer them black.

It's all trial and error, maybe a bit on the error side admittedly, but it can all be changed so it's not a problem.
anyone running the forge turbo actuator?

Well with a bit of luck the 1% of people that do take an interest, that do have in interest in cars will know it is a little bit different than just your boggo focus St.
The exact effect I was looking for.

What s everyones opinions on maps stage 2 or 3?
Stage 2 should see 290 bhp and clutch should be fine, stage 3 about 315 bhp and will almost certainly fry the clutch, want to keep safe driveability but 315 bhp is tempting.
As for peoples opinions?
Well were all entitled to them.
Map will be soon,no update just now just a good pic.

Of all the ST colour options, black is best for a sleeper look.. As opposed to orange like mine, you have no chance with that! laugh

Other than a cat-back Cobra non-res exhaust and DreamScience Performance+ remap, mine is standard. It's a little punchier than standard, and sounds just about right without being silly. More than happy. If I want louder, faster...I have a TVR for that.

As for mpg, I have no idea how accurate the on board computer is, but I average around 27-29mpg....but I am old and tend to drive more like Miss Daisy these days. wink

Very very nice, what power u at now?

Definitely not... Though I was asked recently 'aren't you a little old to be driving an orange car' getmecoat
That's rather amusing.
Had a friend of mine stop whilst driving past earlier, that's some rip off that thing he said.
Stays in the same estate as me,apparently I gave it the beans going onto the main road,I asked him,was I driving past you?
His answer was no,I was in the house, his house is 500 metres from the main road.
A decent exhaust set up is a must on these.

Finally got a stage 2 map done by a company that is recommended up here, acr tuning
The car has been transformed,it's boosts extremely hard, pretty pointless giving it the beans in the low gears as it torque steers all over the road now.
The stage 2 map along with the 3 inch downpipe,3 inch decat,3 inch centre box delete, group a induction kit, airtec gen 3 intercooler, uprated diverted valve and rs plugs have made this into right little hot hatch.
Not sure what the bhp will be but anything between 290-300 bhp would be nice.
It's certainly putting a huge smile on my face.
Can see my fuel bill going through the roof very shortly.
Just a question of how long the clutch lasts?????
