Looking great! I must be getting old as I'm starting to get the appeal of 911s now.

Is there anywhere else you can put the front number plate? Or even just remove it?
im going to get a new one as i hate the style of it, not sure about alternative places to locate it or removal!

Looks like you're missing the number plate plinth. Not too dear (£10ish) from OPC and will make a massive difference smile
i have ordered one! will probably get a smaller front plate too

Got the 911 back from paint on saturday and my front number plate plinth also arrived! so i took it down to my garage and finally introduced it to the 944, turns out i already have a number plate plinth on the car and it appears the body shop had just fitted it upside down when re fititng the front bumper so i turned it around! whilst i was there i also put a new stop/tail light in on the drivers side

i am thinking about swapping it for a slightly smaller front plate, as i dont like the style of the one on it! i was supposed to measure it earlier but the rain and the 944 stopped play

Finally got around to doing the coilpacks and spark plugs today! after starting off having a look at the running issues on my 944... i have read a bit about doing the plugs and coils and that its easier with the mufflers removed but can be done without, as i really didnt fancy my chances of getting old rusty exhaust bolts out without snapping any and not having any new ones to hand i decided to do it the hard way!

First job get the car in the air

I decided to start on the passenger side as i think thats where i was when i jacked the car up! first one in

new style bolts compared to the old allen heads

old spark plugs compared to new one top! think they were long due a change! some of the coils had a sticker on from 2014

another pic showing the limited room

The last bolt!!! which was a relief

All done and just the wheels to go back on

if anybody else is planning on doing this job id say give it a go, just take you time set aside a day and dont rush! i found that no matter what extension i used it was either a bit too long or a bit short and i struggled to get the ratchet on it! but i got there in the end

i had the tubes incase i needed them but none of them were damaged or leaking any oil, the heat shields are still of as they both have holes in them from rust so going to order two new ones

i think i got mine at the perfect time! more parts came today! i have ordered 10mm spacers and 10mm longer bolts to clear the coilpacks, ive read that you need about 6mm to clear but 10 on both is just easier to get for me

New heat shields for the 996 and an oil filter and oil cooler gasket set for the 944 to hopefully stop the new water leak

Old vs new the pics dont really show the hole in the old one

I decided to paint the new ones as i have some primer and high temp paint left over, here they are after a bit of etch primer

hopefully next weekend they will be satin black and back on the car with new stainless bolts and spacers

After an eventful morning moving my piece of st 944 (see other thread) i finally found time to give the 911 a bit of attention in the form of fitting the new coilpack heat shields that i painted! which was alot of fun threading my hands into the tiny gaps and keeping the spacers on the screws
