Really like that (ops car) going to be on the look out for one now.

I see number 42 is for sale on ebay but its a Cat N.

I would highly recommend one, great find to drive, great induction noise (apparently genuine noise, just piped through)

And in dynamic mode really makes a difference.

There doesn't seem to be many for sale, an yes, I saw the cat N one, it looks good though. There are a couple of Matt grey ones. I wouldn't recommend the 93,000 mile one, felt very tired, gearbox not smooth, and hesitated on boost, I did mention it to them, but they didn't see bothered.

And another 90k mile one grey one, that looks good.

There does seem to be another one, in grey with Red leather, that's not a launch edition.

I'm on a couple of Giuletta FB pages, cars do pop up for sale on there.

Also, the 2014 onwards QV (later named Valoce) is basically the same car, minus the black body parts, I just like a plaque!

The car seems to have developed a rattle (or always had one and I didn't notice) coming from the front right, also the handling is good but doesn't seem as sharp as it could be!

I've taken it to my local garage (easier than going to the specialist now!) The right side anti roll bar link has had it, and the left isn't much better. Luckily they're not too much,

Hopefully the rattle will all be gone, and the handling will be tighter afterwards.

One thing I want to do is remove the number plate plinth, and get a neater plate, I've seen on the forums, you can get shorter ones on size, but still legal text,

Also, it seems to be wonky, which is annoying from some angles..

I've also got my eye on this for the future,

240 to 294hp, and they do a gearbox map,

I visited the Derby branch and had my Giulia remapped (and gearbox). I'd recommend it if you are able to, their facility is very nice and you get a rolling road before/after too.
I may well do that, and it would be a fun journey home as well!

That's much more interesting than another Golf GTi!

Shame there aren't any manual ones though. frown
Thank you, certainly fun thing to drive daily! And not many of these seen, compared to the GTi

That is a shame, regarding the gearbox, they did do the early 1.75 QV with the manual, but the aluminium block, 4C engined one, was only TCT, it doesn't seem as good as the DSG alternative.

Oh bugger. I thought I I would give the various black parts a coating of Meguires Ultimate Black, and try some recommend Carpro Deluxe afterwards at some point, all was going well until I tried to do the fading mesh of the grill.

Then this happened...

This was just giving it a light clean before the coating, hardly any pressure applied to it at all. I'll have to get a new Scudetto now. I may get one of these instead, with a dark surround, not cheap though!
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/313830033185?mkcid=16&a...

Looking online, it looks like the bumper has to come off to change the grill, whilst it's off, I may fit some LED headlights.

Also I'll need another pair of cloverleaf badges, as mine are quite faded.

Still very much enjoying the Giulietta, we had a trip to Tenby, drove brilliantly there, and back (the iPace would have been hopeless with the lack of range and no chargers near by!)

Looking at new radiator grills, it seems I need to take the front bumper off to do that, also changing the headlight bulbs is seals to be easier when the bumper is off, so I'll do that at the same time.

The process looks relatively simple, although I'll need some Torx 55.

I am wondering which one to go though...

Another silver edged facelift grill,

Or a black one

Or, as it's an LE, to get the original 2014 facelift grill, they did seem to change the design from the early slatted ones.

I would like to get the remap done, and the TCT change speed increased soon.

I'd have it as it came out of the factory or when you come to sell it someone might think you've had a bump?
Very good point that.

The black does look good, the outer part of the grill can be carbon, which could look good.

Aside from being a bit down on power and less tunability, is there anything inherently "bad" about the earlier engine?

Lovely car btw.
Thank you.

From what I've read on the forums, the original engine is still great, and they don't vary much at all power wise, only 235 vs 240 new. I think the later variant had an aluminium block as well.

I was looking at the early manual ones first, it was only seeing the launch edition that made me go for a newer one.

I have a 15 plate QV, same colour etc however obviously not launch edition.
I bought it August 2017 at 31,000 miles and still have it now at 70,000. I did have the tct gearbock replaced under waranty however I was told I was very unlucky.
I look after it and have it maintained by the brilliant Autolusso Bournemouth and it has been faultless. Ive never kept a car so long. I could change it if I wanted however I still really like it.
Great cars, just enjoy it.
That's a great mileage smile That's bad luck with the gearbox too, but get that it was changed under warranty, how did it feel when it started to fail?

I've heard very good things about them too!

It really is a brilliant thing to drive, great steering feel, and quick enough, I can see me keeping it too. Lovely car to daily drive.

Yes,it was under warranty from Alfa. It started making a metallic noise between third and second , no performance trouble however it just didnt sound very pleasant!
Snows in Southampton eventually replaced the whole gearbox, the fluid engine mounts and the battery , all under warranty.
I think if you can find a decent independent like I have with Autolusso it just makes it so much better to own, someone to trust and knows the make.
I have had the belts changed twice and serviced etc and its been brilliant.
I still love the inside, I did have a different exhaust put on it, wizard I think, made by an Alfa nut I believe and that it.
I wont do it now however i wish I had had it remapped just for even extra smiles!
That's great service though, and nice to know that it's been done now!

We have NJS just down the road, who looked after my previous Alfas, very true that, it's great to have local independent!

Do you have the alcantara looking seats in yours?

Ah yes, I had a Wizard system on my GTV, sounded stunning, I didn't know they made a Giuletta QV exhaust as well, I think mine has one that seems to have been fitted by Veloces in London, I think it's a rebadged system though.

They do seem to produce some good power with a remap, I am tempted with mine, but unsure about the TCT clutch at 62000 miles..

I am glad you have someone good to look after it for you.
Yes I have the Alcantara and leather seats. Mine exactly the same inside and out including the colour as yours minus the launch edition extras.
They all came with our seats as standard as did the qv line. The qv line posted here with tan leather is an option. There are some QV with leather seats options however as lovely as they are I dont think they look as good.
I have just looked at the autolussos website and it is a wizard exhaust made my the founder of Autolusso. I am sure yours is a good exhaust also from Veloces, I got beaten to buying a Guilia QV from there and there good people.
Yours at 62,000 will be fine for a remap as would mine at 70,000 its just I wish I had done it seven years ago when I bought it, my son may have mine when I get rid of it so I dont want it even faster now!
I really like the seats, they seem comfortable l, and supportive as well (I love the look too)

I was very impressed with the quality of the Wizard on the GTV, and a lovely sound without drone on the motorway, this tends to drone a bit at 70

I may do that at some point then! I've just bought some goodies for it, some new cloverleaf badges, and a new grille, with the silver surround, also a new numberplate, as a hate having the original garage name on the bottom.

Ah, that's fair enough! It will probably be quick enough as it is!

I treated the QV to a good clean and polish yesterday, as it hadn't rained for 2 days.. thrilled with how it's looking!

Still really enjoying it, also the little waves from other Alfa owners is always fun!

Also I fitted some new Cloverleaf badges, as the originals had faded.

Also this arrived today, as I had broken the current mesh.
, it should be fun to fit.. I have to take the bumper off to do it. I do have some night breaker headlights to fit at the same time, as it's said to be easier to remove the lights to change the bulbs, whilst the bumper is off

Just a little job today. I hate having a garages name at the bottom of the numberplate, as it looks a bit messy. Also, it didn't look quite right

I did try to take off the plinth, but the bumper is raised underneath, so wouldn't accommodate a UK plate annoyingly!

This is the best I could do, it seems to fit better with the front of the car now

Looks great and I am glad you are still enjoying it.Would you mind telling me where you got your new badges from please?
I like your new grill however I am just not the sort of person to fiddle with bumpers etc !
No problem all, they were from this seller on eBay,

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/175205789572?mkcid=16&a...

They are slightly larger than the originals, but I couldn't justify the price of the original ones eek

I am slightly concerned about it to be honest! But looking at various YouTube videos, it doesn't look too bad, and I've found all the various screws/and have the right tools for it,

I've set aside Friday morning to undertake the job.. As it will leave lots of time to try to reattach it.

I'll make sure to post how it goes smile

I really like the look of your car. I'm sure at some point I will need a 5 door car again and like how these are unusual and a really attractive car. How do you find load carrying and passenger space overall?
Thank you. I've been really pleased with it. I did want a Mk7/7.5 GTi, but these did seem cheaper, and still fun to drive. Nice that you don't see many around, and when you do, you usually get a wave.

I've been impressed with the storage, the rear head room or leg room isn't as good as it could be due to the shape, and the seats it has. But boot wise, oh swallowed everything we needed for a week in Tenby, 2 prams, and various suitcases. And 1 and a 4 year old.

Thank you so much for that link.
I will keep coming back to see how you are getting on.
I had to go to Dartmouth today, I live in Sandbanks and it was a really good fun 250 miles. Didnt miss a beat , made me smile a lot and didnt see another QV!! They dont know what there missing.
No problem at all. The originals were a bit of a faff to remove, and to get rid of the stubborn residue. The replacements seem a great quality, and quick shipping as well.

I'm planning the bumper at some point tomorrow morning, as I won't need the car for a bit, just incase I can't get it back ob again.. hehe

Lovely part of the world that! And a great drive to Dartmouth too. It is nice to have something a bit different I think, I don't think I've seen a QV since I've had mine.
