Yeah, could turn the car into a Garden-vac! Surely there must be a way to block them up with a bung or something when you don't want it there, or by simply disconnecting the feed closer to the block so there is no suction in the pipe. I've always wondered about driving in winter with one of these, my Fiesta had to nose through a few snow piles last winter and my LCR 225 is lower still, I wonder how other LCR owners with cold feeds drive theirs in winter without sucking up a load of snow!
I've got a cold air feed on my Williams. Have you got someone to rev the car while you put your hand infront of it? I was shocked at how much it sucked my hand in.I was told not worry about rain, but to avoid puddles. The car's not a daily drive, so it hardly get used when it's wet anyway. I have had it out when it's started raining, and it's been fine.
Mines just got a jubilee clip where the ducting meets the airbox, I could just undo that if I get worried about it.
Back to the car - looks good. Really like the 182 style exhaust aswell.
Having problems with my photobucket account, so can't upload all the "during" pictures of todays detail, but here are the after shots
Big thanks to my mate for doing this for me!

I remember driving one of the first 172 Sports when they came out in 2000 - thought it was a cracking little car then. It was a few years before I bought one (well, actually it was Lady B.J.W who bought it)
As with your's it was sympatheticaly modified (adjustable shocks and dampers to iron out the overhard suspension for crap GB roads, and a re-map to sort out the mid corner issues with 2nd/3rd gear) Cracking little car - really miss it.
Yours looks really nice, and in VGC. I am sure you will enjoy owning the car. Accept that something electrical will 'develop' at some point and it will always be one of the best point to pointers sub 10k.

Thanks for all the replies glad you all like it
This weekends been productive
With the help of friends the Milltek decat (sorry hippies) was fitted along with some fresh Gulf Fully Sythnetic oil (thanks OpieOils)
I'm in need of a standard airbox though still!

Thats a cracking looking car, I did go see a cup and as nice a car that it was the service history with it was inexistant and the dealer was a knob end.As with your's it was sympatheticaly modified (adjustable shocks and dampers to iron out the overhard suspension for crap GB roads, and a re-map to sort out the mid corner issues with 2nd/3rd gear) Cracking little car - really miss it.

Cheers Dan - Big fan of milltek - had a de-resonated cat/back fitted to my B7 RS4 - nice to see the tradition of upsetting hippies continuing. This weekends been productive

Lots of 172 Cups have been thrashed to bits. One without history would have me walking away.
