Reading one of the mags recently where the great Macca was pitched against the new Carrera GT, I was impressed by the older car's ability to still mix it - and triumph - against the very latest uber craft from the land of hyper cars.

Despite relatively non-low profile tyres too and a healthy does of body roll, that it still defines 'the ultimate' after all these years speaks volumes for the genius of Gordon Murray.

Have any PHers genuinely travelled in one?

I think the gist is that MrsD / Jaydee / JonDokic were one and the same sad person living their hollow life through a keyboard. Probably migrated to another forum to do it all over again. Some people, huh?

Blimey, I remember all that Dokic dies of leukaemia or whatever. Didn't realise it was b_llox until now.

Am I a bit slow? Just had a zip through the archives, it would appear the thread about his demise has been removed?

Same guy posted on FerrariChat and tricked everyone into thinking he had just bought a 275.

Stupidly he gave details of a famous car which some other users tracked down and found the actual owner.

Voila... one user who stopped posting.

I missed all this too so if you are slow at least you're not the only one. Absolutely remarkable that s/o made all that stuff up. Next time something like this happens can someone please mail me - I've been waiting outside my house for Jaydee to pick me up for the last 12 months. And who's this Jigs that keeps popping up?

Yes, they give the Carrera GT Vs Maclaren F1 to Rowan Atkinson - who has an F1 and he prefers that, then Top Gear gives the Carrera GT Vs Maclaren SLR to Clarkson who has an SL55, and he prefers the SLR.

What will car do, give it to Michael Moore who will prefer his Nissan Prius?

All three (Atkinson, Carkson and Moore) are amazing writers. I just think that they may be a little biased. At least Atkinson says as much.

Simon.

I can't believe it!
Why? What motivates these people?
Despite everything, I'm still conscious of having really enjoyed reading about the F1 on here. £20,000 for Mclaren to repair a scraped wing from the garage door? Honestly? Magic, and I lapped it up. What a chump.

Don't feel too bad. Many people were taken in - myself included. To my lasting embarrassment I even sent an email of condolence to 'JayDee'.

So Jon Dokic is alive then? Crikey - pity the poor guy who inherited his F1, he'll have to give it back. Rich...
