I've found a problem. Well it's not really a problem per se... but some hidden history. It's had 30k miles shaved off it at some point - looks to be just before it was sold to my uncle at 18k miles. Or rather, 48k miles.

That'll make no odds now as it sounds like a good runner, just lose no opportunity to remind your uncle that he's a numpty..

My thoughts. Does explain why the steering wheel looks a little tired.

Right - I've given it a good going over inside today. Well sort of. I did the front (which was filthy) and then I got bored and got on with fitting some replacement instrument bulbs that needed doing.

The result:

Sorry about the rubbish image quality. But there we go.

Cost me less than £1 for the replacement dash bulbs. So bangernomics is still go!

Hi,

I don't think I could have gone from your Lexus to this. No offence. I just couldn't, maybe it is my inner snob! I see the reasons for doing it though..

I like the idea of bangers. I doubt I could ever buy one though for some reason! I hope it serves you well mate.

Enjoy! (?) thumbup

It isn't actually any worse to drive to be honest. Different, yes, but not worse.

Infact I'd say the Renault is a fair bit comfier for cruising. Would like a bit extra poke though.

As i say, I like the idea of bangers.

When we moved back from Florida, we needed a car ASAP so we got a £200 1985 'B' Volvo 360 GLE. It had manual choke 'n' all. RWD too! ( wink )

It was actually quite good for the age and in immaculate condition. It was more reliable than the Toyota we have now aswell. hehe

I hope the Renault serves you well. thumbup

Just one thing.

I think you should take off the wheel trims now. You can't beat the black steely look wink

Yeah that's really the only blemish on the whole car. Apart from a stone chipped front bumper. Would be nice to do something about it but not worth paying. Will have a look and see if I can bash it out a bit smile

Just got the MOT ultimatum. I have never had.

She needs two tyres, a ball joint and track rod end, exhaust (inc cat), two rear wheel bearings, welding on the crossmember that holds the radiator in, new front number plate and two bulbs.
