This thread is full of win. Love the sound of itb's, even 4 pots sound good under load with them.

Yep sure is stiff, not so great as a road car but epic on track now... Might change the suspension for some 3 way competition KW's at some point when I have some spare pennies...

When this started I must admit I anticipated a half-arsed trackday car, but it's actually epic!

Love the colour. As a road car I think these are a bit tall and 'Noddy' like, they look odd, but this looks like a riot.

Good luck with the new season.

This thread is trying very hard to stress my internet connection to breaking point!
Love the swift- probably the warm hatch I'd buy. It won't be 'warm' by the time you're done with it though!

Brilliant work. OH has a Swift and I do rather like it. Would love an S1600 spec one, yours is going to end up in that sort of league

Not much to report as I'm still waiting on pistons, sleeve, rods, cams and valves... But bought these light weight alloy pulleys...

So the question is are they as light as they say..

Well 1st up was the alternator pulley.. With the old one off we weighed them...

So at 163g what was the light one..

A tidy 56g..

We promptly fitted it to the alternator

Next up the water pump pulley

And then the alloy one..

Again promptly fitted ready to assemble one the engine goes back together

Last up the crank pulley weighing in at 1703g..

With the alloy one coming in at 703g giving a 1kg saving!

We were also told the sleeves are now in production.. Can't wait

Sorry I have not been on here for a while... anyways lot has happened over the last few months... here goes!!

We have fitted the new liners which are 87mm making this swift a 1974cc

Here are a couple of pics of the crank which has been wedged and lightened, rods, pistons, fly and pulleys all balanced together and all the parts for the build starting to come together...

New parts for the head started to arrive...

So here we have double valve springs, 33mm inlet and 28mm exhaust valves from ferrea...

the 13.5mm lift cams OEM are 8mm

Carbon Bonnet fitted with graphics added to match the painted bonnet

More weight reduction going on..

Valve Seats cut for big valves

dropped the block off so the combustion chamber CC can be worked out and re profiled. Took a picture or two of the head which has still got a way to go but is getting there...

Here you can see the machining to allow the 13.5mm cams to fit

Then some porting has started..

Still a lot to do but the head will be back early new year so I can get it built. Once built it will be run in and mapped on Anderson's Engine Dyno to be sure the timing chain can cope with the extra forced caused by the big cams. We will partially strip and inspect some components before the engine goes back in the car..
