I always feel like playing 'spot the car part' with stuff like this, loads of stuff from other cars just on the outside!

Cool car though, you're never likely to see another out and about by chance

I like these a lot.
How long have you had it for?
I parked up next to one a fair few years ago in Crawley, think it was yours if my memory serves me right (from the numberplate)
Hi

I've had the car for a year and a few months. It wouldn't have been mine you saw as previously it was in storage for circa 7 years Liverpool way.

The number plates for quite a few of them are similar e.g. S50ACE, R500ACE so it may have been one of those.

My latest 'spot' is the Jaguar XJS Convertible filler cap.

Interior is pretty much Ford (though lots of different Fords) and a Merc hood switch

Proper 90's rarity goodness.

It's properly ungainly in places and clearly looks like it's been built in a shed so you can't imagine paying £70k for it new but at the same time it's such a rare thing that it's beyond cool.

Bet it sounds great too.
It does sound great.

Its possible to see another (Um,... I haven't yet). There are twelve Mk1 and four Mk2 cars currently legal for road use in the UK as of today's date (taxed & MOT'd).

Sorry, I had a bit of time on my hands.

Wow such a blast from the past I used to work on these at brooklands.
There was another car built with a different bonet and covered headlights for the London motor show but the company went into receivership before the modifications could be implemented.

Love these and was looking to buy one recently, to no avail.

If you ever decide to sell, let me know!

I think it might have been mine that was spotted parked in Bristol,

This is one of the first ones.

Intrestingly, the chap that designed these, went on to do the Aston DB7, and the same design house then produced the MX5 later on, as mentined already, you can see the design queues they have carried through.

If you look back in the archives of Classic and Sports Car magazine we had a feature article in there, in April 2016, with my car and a very similar one, but automatic, with only one digit difference on the reg plate. At a quick glance you’d think you were seeing double. It was a good day, and some great photos too.

This is one of my favorite pics of mine:

And another....

By a huge coincidence we'll be back in Clifton tomorrow (first time since seeing the car whenever it was) so hopefully if it's local I'll see it again.

For what is quite a unique car, the wheels look quite underwhelming. It deserves some sort of classic OZ or BBS split rim with a bit of dish.

Lots and lots to like about that car - much of which has been said.

So I would like to tip the hat to a really nice, elegant, uncluttered interior. Looks good

I had one of those 10 years ago. One of only two cars that had the 4.6litre 32 valve alloy engine. Lovely engine and car, though mine had issues with the hood. Not that it stopped us taking it across the Alps!

Good point, it almost looks as though it was designed to have them.

OP, were you in the Isle of Man recently? I saw a car that looked exactly like yours, same colour etc a week or so ago and had been struggling to remember what make it was until I saw this thread!

Absolutely no connection to the garage selling the car, but recently purchased a daily driver from them and noticed this AC Ace V8 on their website.

https://www.paulgreasleycars.co.uk/used-cars/ac-ac...

never seen one before, and in my search to find out more about it stumbled across this post. Thought I would share the advert given the rarity of the car and the obscure garage it is for sale at. No idea how they came to have the AC V8, almost everything else they sell is at the cheap daily driver end of the market.

Not sure I would be brave enough to trade my Chimaera 500 in for this but tempted. Is there any price guide for this sort of car?

I've no connection either, but it does look rather good value for a hand built sportscar with a stonking V8 engine.
