Mine was almost all twisty B roads. It did a lot better on 'A' roads or if I slowed down.... great car. Got a Megane 275 now and that's struggling to stay above 24. Gulp.

People getting 40 mpg? Mine did 32 overall... are you sure youre really driving?
26 in mine, 50% motorway usage
I don't believe you could get anywhere near 40 without driving like an OAP

Interested in these, they look great fun. I've been looking at the best way of financing one. Any advice would be appreciated!
Stock lease deals will be few and far between by now, if any at all. The order books are closed for this model from new due to the MK8 Fiesta's being out, with the upcoming ST soon to be released. There's loads on the used market though, which is probably your best bet. They can be had under 10k now cheapest.

Excellent choice of car, they are superb. Here's my 5 door, the 215 kit is a great addition.

Personally I've found it pretty easy to average 40+mpg on longer journeys. Got 375 miles to my first tank but a majority of that was bobbing along at 60mph between Bristol and Milton Keynes.

Nice to see a 5dr Patch888, I realise they didn't sell them for long.

I had mine for just over 3 years and it's been faultless, cheap to run and fun to driver.

Running stage 1 with de-cat and induction kit averaging 36mpg over 3000miles.

Mine is getting the Collins Stage 2 kit fitted tomorrow - so induction kit, intercooler and catback exhaust....plus of course the remap. Looking forward to a spin in it in the afternoon to see the difference.

Only a couple of months I believe, I have a little one so rear doors come in very handy.

Just to prove they are good on fuel. I've just sat on the m25, m40 and m4. And 52 miles later at 65mph I got this....

Amazing considering the hills and standstill traffic at points! Cracking car.

I can confirm that with this lot fitted and the map applied it is pretty darn rapid, only done a little test drive but 4th gear in particular is very impressive now. :-))

37mpg in constant stop start traffic and a heavy foot

You have a boost leak I reckon, not uncommon. I've never got mine below 32mpg despite really going for it.

if anyone wants to improve the gear change, these short shift kits that are offered really make a huge difference, I've got the MT roll resister, MT airbox and additional intake hose, Uprated brakes, power flex camber bolts - these made a really nice meaningful gain in Neg camber, my tyres were wearing on the outershoulder due to my fast road driving style, I've used the car at the track once or twice and it really was excellent... its so good, I'm holding out for the new model but I'm being really tempted by the new megane with its 4WS

The Mountune short shift is very good and gives a great shift action and feel .

Also theres no way you get 40 with hooning it aswell, i get 40 on a long run but drops to 33 when having some hooning aswell.

I average 32, says 35-36 on the trip computer, lot of stop start and hooning thrown in so not bad to be honest.
