I love how casually we suddenly had 600hp going in - an LS felt like enough initially. biggrin

Circa 600 hp in a light ish vehicle with a live axle; that will be interesting....
My 350 bhp mk 1 escort tries to kill me if I gas it in anything but a straight line on a dry road.
Certainly gets the heart pumping,
Would I change it? Nope never.
Good luck.

Very, very nice...

Something like this is on my bucket list. I would probably go for a newer square body 60/70's long bed truck with a full tube chassis and an LSA/LS9 crate engine. Maybe 4wd as well...

I really like what Fasterproms are going with their project https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZyZ2fzPox8

it's worth reflecting upon the ingenious characteristics of that Ford small block

  • relatively light in weight
  • compact in size
  • single camshaft
  • no significant mass mounted up high
  • much torque available at lower RPMs

I’m very keen on doing a truck. A guy I work with has a similar vintage Chevy 3100 rat truck with a 8.2L big block motor and open pipes.

you should have sold the porker to me... have an itch for a 911 that wont go away....

anyway so truckasurous versus hell raiser track test is definitely on, when we finish itsmile

We are not a million miles away from you on the other side of the a3 - well to be correct - badhand is there and i am probably in-between you.

we should PM and have a pint - i guess we are both going to have IVA stuff to deal with and might be worth pulling our collective knowledge

Awesome!!
There really ought to be plenty more threads like this on PH.

I also love the idea of what appears to be a old truck that hides double wishbones, coilovers, big brakes and mental power
