It had 1/4 of a tank and I put £40 in of petrol, drove 160 miles and had half a tank left.
No ideas on the mpgees but didn't think that was too bad.
I did barely go over 70 the whole way in the fear of it blowing up.

Ha. Yep I was the highest bidder for the whole week.
The seller messaged me 4 minutes before it ended and said 'be quick, it finishes in a minute'.

Knew from that point he was bidding it up.

Went to halfords and bought some paint.
Operation 'hide the rust' is commencing shortly.

Oh and it struggled to start earlier.

Dont try cornering too fast in it, had a bloke when these were new showing me hows fast his ML320 was, a little bit quicker than a MK2 Golf GTI 8 valve, but, critically the Golf was nimbler, it had been lowered on uprated springs and dampers, he had me on the straights but tried to follow me round a roundabout, he more went over it, or at least his right hand wheels did

that engine deserves a home in something else, do people transpants those Merc V8's as they seem pretty strong and plenty powerful enough,

A new pedal from mercedes will get you change from £30, do the throttle cable while you are at because the plastic where is joins the pedal goes brittle and that is not a fun thing when it snaps.

Good lord that's a rusty Merc, looks like it's spent some serious time down by the sea with that kind of rust.

As for the interior.. I have this to offer. That is absolutely horrific!
