Yes that's my car but the gear knob has now changed to a wooden version, there are no Porsche badges on the seats and the white lettering has been subtly greyed out. Also I'm a sucker for the wooden gear knobs, what wood/design did you go for?
Lovely car, inside and out! You did well buying this one. Again Bravo!
ETA
I have seen the photo in the meantime, love the gear knob!

Normally I don't like a coloured centre console, let alone an gold one, but this really pulls it off! Right shade of jewish racing gold, and nicely set apart with the two tone wooden gear knob. Only very minor thing, and I realize I'm in the minority on this one, I very very rarely like aftermarket stereo and nav receivers. A new PCCM+, although very pricey, would finish this car off very well, imho.

Top man!!! The Porsche badges irked me a bit .... Must look lovely with subtle grey RECARO lettering.

Looks like the wooden knob is just pushed on with the alloy tube as a single piece. Presumably bought from somewhere as is.

I didn’t know about your past 997
Lol, I wasn’t aware he’d tw4tted a previous Boxster.I take it you have a weather app on your phone ? I’d be tempted to stay at home when it rains
Great looking car that CSR
I imagine it’s a great car to drive too, I could have been tempted myself, but I struggled with the asking price somewhat.
If it’s in fine fettle (which I imagine it would be) the price was worth paying to sidestep all the usual 996 maintenance/refurb costs.
No doubt if you were to find a good C2 manual coupe, then upgrade it with the same parts AND refurbish the usual 996 wear items, it’d probably work out more expensive than just buying your car.
Enjoy it, and please try your best to keep it on the blacktop come rain or shine ...

I was also very interested in this and noticed it has disappeared. With two small children a sort of 4 seat 996 GT3 at half the price seemed like a good idea! Enjoy!
Well the ad was a bit misleading because with the Recaro seats no one or no thing is getting in the back. So on my list is to remove the rear seats altogether seeing as they are useless. Went to show off to a couple of my mates last night. One of them also commented on the light steering feel when just turning in which happens occasionally. I still want to get my guy to check the alignment. Thats on the To Do list after the MOT which is due in a few weeks so I'd like to get that done sooner rather than later.

Zero toe transforms the steering on these. Then roughly 2º of negative camber on the back and front and a bit of toe in on the rear will stop it feeling like the back is going to kick out, but give you a nice weighty feel and will go exactly where you point it.
I have had my alignment done 5 times since doing all my suspension recently. It think it felt wrong to have no toe in on the front, but as soon as I did the car just felt so right.

My other 996 was setup like - pic below - and that turns in like a M F'er compared to this one.

CSR is cracking, I remember reading about it in EVO.
As for the aquaplaning - are Boxsters particularly susceptible? (and I'm not being facetious either - I genuinely don't know!)
I don’t think so.As for the aquaplaning - are Boxsters particularly susceptible? (and I'm not being facetious either - I genuinely don't know!)
Mine is on semi slicks and I haven’t had a problem (so far)
Light weight
Fat Tyres
Speed
Tread depth
Tire design for getting through water
The above are your enemies when it comes to standing water. So generally I would say all Porsche sports cars are more risky than your average city car due to their lowish weight, fat tyres and less weight over the front.
I have never aquaplaned in any other cars. Little video showing what can happen. The car just goes light, rotates, then grips and spits you off in whatever direction it is pointing.
I dont want to say I a a brilliant driver. But you would need to be seriously good to catch this and save it.
