Hi Bricktop,
Yes I’m with you there. I love SAABs. Weirdly I’ve never owned one as I like the Swiss Army knife that is an estate and if I bought a SAAB I’d want an old Turbo with 3 spokes. bandit
I loved their no compromise approach though towards safety and tech. Even more so than Volvo. Brilliant engineering.
Again, I agree about owning something from new and keeping it forever. Doubt I ever will now as there aren’t many new cars I like and I’m 46 now so time is running out to own one for say 40 years. scratchchin
And yep, sad that Volvo stopped making estates. A sign of the times I guess. I’m not an SUV fan either.

No worries Johnno it’s all just friendly chit chat. thumbup
That reviewer is entitled to their opinion but it’s way off the mark. I’m onto my 3rd set now and if they were half as bad as that summary makes out I’d never have fitted them a 2nd or 3rd time.
I’m a stickler for cars driving as they should. So suspension, grip and handling are top of my list to sort on every car I buy, if they haven’t been sorted recently. I’ve just never been a tyre snob apart from on cars that I drive very quickly, so track stuff and really quick road stuff. I just think there’s a lot of “Emperors new clothes” around it all.
I’ve never had a single “moment” with these tyres. I’m not here to convince anyone but nor will I be convinced by anyone, as the proof is in the pudding and I must have done 70k miles+ on this tyre.
We pay our money and we make our choice. thumbup
(There are over 750 reviews on black circles and they score 4.6 out of 5, by owners. I know owners are biased and never want to admit they’ve made a bad purchase but for the price they’re great and that seems to be the general consensus.)
Michelins are actually cheaper than I thought though. I always just have £1k in my head due to 911 prices.
Looks like £550 for 4 fitted PS2/4, so not a deal breaker to be honest.
So ok, you might actually see the car on Michelins one day after all. hehe
(They won’t be twice as good as my NS20s though I guarantee. tongue out)
PS. You don’t ever want a chat with my dad if you think my tyre choice is dubious. hehe
Sometimes someone will get talking to him at a classic car show and ask what tyres he uses. His response “They’re black and round”. laugh

Dan that’s a good result on your test. I took mine in ‘95 aged 17. Got a Dangerous fault the first time but passed the next time.

Hi Josh, thanks. It cleaned up really well. It had sat around for 2 years after I bought it so was in a bit of a sad state.
It’s not perfect mind but it’s very good for a 25 year old 195k mile car. It’s very low owner. I think I’m only the 3rd or 4th so it hadn’t been messed with at all until the guy before me who did some decent upgrades and I’ve continued.

No thread on the 205 yet. I owned one when I was 18 so bought another one 2 years ago. Far from mint but a good straight base and it wasn’t expensive.
I’m at war with it at the moment as I’ve just had all the suspension replaced and rear beam rebuilt but now it sits too low. The garage raised it again, but then it was too high so they dropped it again when I asked. Yes I’m their favourite customer. silly
So that’s to be revisited but not until next winter.
I’ll get a thread up eventually I like to keep a track of my cars and I’ve done a lot to it already.

Cheers. thumbup

And yes Johnno it’s wearing Kuhmos, don’t give me any of your lip. hehe

biggrinlaugh

Kumhos are actually OK, a decent mid range tyre, I've done 100k odd on their old Ecsta, my biggest gripe was they were noisy and they snapped when you went over their limit - their PS71 might suit the T5 mind wink
