So much flair for just a 'shopping trolley' / run of the mill car. Pug just don't do it like that anymore, excluding the 407 Coupe anyway.

Oh and I'm not saying the GTi isn't special by the way. Your's is very nice.

Edit - Lets see your Recaros!

Nothing wrong with those mods.

Lovely looking car. Black is the best colour for a GTI-6 in my opinion.

Wish Pug still made cars like this
Me too. I actually feel a little upset that I can't give them my money. The 207 GTI THP175 has a cracking engine, but it's just too lardy.

This 306 is lovely though, very nice looking. Would definitely get a wave from me if I passed you...

Cheers for the comments guys, i'm really happy with the car as it stands.

I don't really have any good pics of the recaros, i have this one taken when the interior was filthy with a camera phone

Here is a summary of my ring trip this year...

It all started so well, Oh wait no thats a lie isn't it we missed the ferry by 5 minutes so had to wait another 2 hours for the next one, but it gave us time to take a pic of our mini convoy

As we missed the ferry we decided to stop over in belgium at a campsite on the way there to avoid pitching the tents at gone midnight, so we stayed at a campsite in the middle of nowhere.

The next morning we set off on the 200 mile trip to germany however 10 yards out of the gate i change to second then BANG clutch is stuck to the floor and i pull over to the side of the road and stall, all the mates can hear at this point over our terrible walkie talkies is "...Broken"

So we push the car another 10 yards to a car park and take a look at the damage

We are in the middle of belgium at this point with no pug garages around so I give the car's UK doctor a call and get some advice about the routing of the cable and whether he can ship one out to me. UK mechanic is helpful as ever and is willing to ship the part 24 hour to the campsite.

Once we arrive in germany (after 200+ miles of driving sans clutch) I go to the local Pug garage to see if they have the part in stock but they advise they can't get it until the 29th, the garage name sums up peugeots quite well really...

Here is the car in its campsite role as a glorified locker!

I give the my Breakdown service a call to see if they can source the part, they come back to me on tuesday and say they can and that they will pick the part car up and have the part by 11 on wednesday with me getting the car back by mid day wednesday.I agree to go along with this as i am on holiday so why should me and my mates have to do all the work!

Wednesday evening comes and they tell me that they can't get the part until the 29th either, this does not leave me enough time to get the part 24 hour delivered to us so I am left with no option but to have them trailer it back to the UK.

As wednesday comes and goes I have missed out on any laps of the north loop as well as the planned wednesday evening GP circuit time, but thursday morning i am greeted by a lovely Astra stbox!

So all in all a wasted trip and some godawful customer service by a certain breakdown service.

I did get an 09 plate Golf GT TDI for a few days back in the UK which was very nice.

Also i got to eat a rather large pizza from Pinocchio's, see the £5 note in the corner for scale...

Plan is to go back early next year, might take 2 cars next time though!

I had a cable let go after a 70 mile hoon turning back onto my road in my 205 a few years back, since then I have always carried one spare! Shame you couldn't get one whilst you were out there, car looks ready for the ring action!

Had a GTI-6 from new for a year - only bad thing I remember about it was poor turning circle - nearly wiped out 10 parked cars at Sainsbury car park on a fast entry into a small gap the first day had it. Fantastic car, enjoy.

In case you havent - I just though i'd let you know - its an absolutey tt of a job to do.

Does make the clutch feel much nicer though.
