Thanks for the answer. I have read about the DA kits but they dont make them anymore. I was hoping it was an off the shelve kit! I dont have the talent or equipment to make one from scratch. Did you do a journal of the build up for the first kit?

I was reading up on this on e30zone a few years ago (& PPC mag) & I was really impressed with what you were doing.

I really like the conversion & it's the way I would have liked to have modded my e30 318is.

Yes, it's probably easier to fit a bigger motor, but to me, the IS is supposed to be a nimble motor- like the e30 M3 & not have a heavy 6 pot up front.
I did look at a 535 conversion, & i'm glad a kept it standard- not many ISs' left on the roadsmile

Gratuitous shot of my old onebiggrin

Is this car the one that was in PPC or Retro? Nice car!

ideaNow supercharging a M50B25/28 that would be interesting yes
(the 2.8l is an M52 BTW nerd )

I'd love one of these on my 325i trackcar:

Used to be a lot better value before the arse dropped out of the exchange rate.
Of course it is! Damn out geeked!

A touch over £3k.....scratchchin

I shall have to pass that on to my friend with his M50 converted E30

I'm sure that would surprise a few people on track Sniff in your E36!

I'm in the process of Rotrex charging my 106 Rallye, i'm doing most of the work myself but the kits can be bought off the shelf now so it's not really DIY as such. The charger is the last thing on my list as they're so damn expensive lol.

I was turning one of the laminova style charge cooler finned tubes, water runs through them an the charged air passes through the fins, that tubes only a 1/4 done, there ar two of them that sit in the inlet manifold to make the charge cooler.
