Interesting to see you're going down to 16's. I personally always thought that the 17's ruined the handling of the Fiesta and felt the Zetec S was better and more fun to drive on it's 16's. Have the engine mods done anything to improve the low end response/torque or do the keep the engines requirements to be reved just faster when you do?
Its helped the pickup loads! Lots more torque down the bottom. Still needs more though lol.

when using 'out of the box' suspension (i.e, no custom set-up) I feel having a bit more side-wall will give a little more on a 205/45/16.. Unusual size i know, but thats the extra width i want from the wheels. Hopefully it should keep it a bit more 'in contact', and corner better (its a bit twitchy atm).

Thanks for the comments though guys, I appreciate the positive feedback. Makes me feel a little less embarrassed about the Plastic-Car.....lol

Ive just bought myself one a few months ago, [thread about it on here]

Im looking at modding it slightly, subtle exterior bits such as the halogen/LED side lights.
But im also looking at performance mods, starting with a K&N 57i.

Ive just bought my first house so not got the cash to splash about anymore so will take time.

Yer im just moving out mate, so my budgets have fallen slightly... They dont really need anything exterior, lol. Just a bit of lowering and obviously ditch the stripes...

PM me if you need any help mate, always happy to sort out some suggestions!

That sounds like it really could be good fun now, always felt one had to work it too hard to get any joy out of it. You'll definately prefer it on the smaller wheels.
Keep up the good work.

Thats very nice!

I was looking to upgrade to one of these from my C2 as its either an ST, or a 172/182 Clio.

Sounds like the changes you've made work perfectly!

i remember taking my mk5 zetec-s to tony @ pumaspeed when he worked in a little warehouse in wakefield. the company has certainly come along way since. that was when he was developing his first frs. bloody beast.
i had a full milltek engine back and dream science. made very good gains.
wish there was a total one stop, like pumaspeed for the older (mk2 golf) vw world. with pumsapeeds prices

quality car fella. if i hadnt the mk2 golf, would be another zs all the way. chassis is totally underrated

Agreed, thats what always has put me off them. 150hp from a 2.0 isn't that great *cue the clio 182*

But what you've done looks lovely biggrin

Out of interest how much is the Dreamscience map?

Nice car mate, very tastefully done.

Good idea on the 16"s too, the only thing I'd say is that Compomotive tend to by quite heavy (my Mo's weigh around 25% more than the stock 16"s), maybe worth looking at some TD Pro race or similar to maximise the unsprung weight reduction.

I did the eibach's. Theyre only 35mm drop, so doesnt put out the geo that much tbh. Once she's on coilovers i will get it set up properly.

As for the wheels, well, that was just a design choice on my part. I was plain colours now, but has to be dark grey or black to go with the carbon bonnet.....lol.
Despite it being 'only' a 35mm drop, it will put the geo out. I've seen loads of folks who've dropped their Focus STs and it's seriously recommended to get the car 4-wheel aligned after things have settled in for a couple of hundred miles. Get it 4-wheel aligned (£100-140) before changing to coilovers - I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at the improvement in the handling.

I had my Focus ST 4-wheel aligned and the transformation was incredible. Crisper turn in, reduced tyre wear, greater stability mid-corner and a big improvement in grip levels. No word of a lie, it was the best £120 I spent on the car in the 3 years I had it.

matty!

That's a nice 'wee' Fiesta you have there. I'll echo the other comments and say it's done quite taste fully!

Having never owned a Fiesta I've spent plenty of time in both an ST as ZetecS and always felt that the ST needed the smaller wheels, just to me seemed over tyred!

Go for some nice lightweight Speedlines. Compomotives and Revolutions are just to heavy!

As for the coilovers i'd definately spend as much as you can afford on these, look at AST's they've been very good for me over the years and are perfect for the not so good UK roads..
